Hello all! My nine year old received a pretty deep cut under his big toe. What would y'all suggest giving him to promote healing. Supplements or topical...Thank you!

You could ask your local pharmacist if going to a doctor seems extreme. I had a finger wound recently and just used an antibiotic wipe, gauze and a band aid.

Definitely an antibiotic ointment. There's too many germs running around at ground level. You can swab with alcohol or peroxide, too. A tiny bit of redness as it heals is normal but watch for any swelling and redness. Aloe vera plant gel is great provided all else is clean and no other issues. Lavender essential oil is good for healing as well.

You could also try using an antibiotic ointment that contains such ingredients as vitamin E, vitamin A, or cocoa butter. Those ingredients are purported to be effective for removing scars. I've linked to two below:

Also, make sure that your skin gets plenty of vitamins and sleep. Finally, please do keep us updated on how things go.

Best of luck!
