Hi ladies i have been toying with the idea of derma fillers for a cheek enhancment just to give them a wee lift .Also some botox for my number 11 line .I went to see a lady who is well known and a practice nurse and who has lots of background in the buissness. She said i didnt NEED it as i had no sagging but did say it would just enhance what i have .She reccomended juverderm voluma in cheeks and a tiny bit of botox in the frown line. The price would be £450.00 as i dont need a lot.The nurse is the same age as me and she looked great and she told me what she had done.Cheeks and forehead she also said she didnt need it but it made her look less tired and gave her more confidance .The best thing was you could never tell she had anything done.I also use tua trend ,derma roller, collagen lite therapy, pmd microderm ,You name it ive got it and what she did say was whatever im doing is working and to keep it up.What i would like to know is what were your results? and was there anyone who had anything go wrong? .Has anyone had juvederm in their cheeks and did you like it?.The before and afters ive seen online look great but you never know if they are real or not.Would love your input on this .xx

I'm a huge fan of cheek filler - it just gives the face a little lift, makes you look perkier. For mature age women, giving the face a triangular shape is very flattering.

I also think Botox is worth getting - I only get my 11s done but it seems to smooth out the entire forehead without a completely frozen look.

I have never had a bad experience - go for it!!!

Thanks keliu, i just keep reading blooming horror stories on the web but i suppose just because its on the internet dosent mean its true.Dont get me wrong there is also stories where people are over the moon .To be honest though most of the research ive found has been positive and most people saying if it goes wrong its been down to the person injecting just not being experienced enough xx

The web abounds with horror stories. Basically, I think people like complaining more than they like praising something.

But with regard to fillers, IMO, the cheeks are an area where it's harder to go wrong. I've had fillers in the nasolabial folds, marionette lines and lips and haven't been happy with the results. But I've never been disappointed with my cheek filler.

I'm considering this as well. I just had Restylane under my eyes and I am thrilled with the results. A lot of the outcome of fillers has to do with the injector. Just make sure you use a good one.

I have never had filler in my cheeks but I have in my nasolabials, corners of the lips and a little to fill out beginnings of marionette lines. Juvaderm works and lasts longer than the restylane, so I do prefer that. I have always been pleased with that.
I have had botox in my 11's and lower mouth muscles (to stop clenching)a few times, two in my crows feet and once in my forhead. I wasn't as crazy about the forhead as it made it too smooth and not as natural for me. The crows feet, I got a smaller amount than recommended and only every few years apart or so as to keep it natural but not let me squint too much.
I have always been happy and it lasts up to a years or so for me.

Hi .Well had the botox and fillers done yesterday.I got a small amount of botox in my frown line and above my eyebrows this will relax the muscles to smooth out the number 11 line.I didnt need it anywhere else on my forehead .I had tried everthing possible to get rid of it but nothing worked so this was really a last reort.I had 1ml of juvederm voluma in my cheeks the 1ml was shared for both cheeks as it was just to even out my bone structure as one cheek is flatter than the other. I havent noticed much yet .My cheeks are a bit more defined but thats about it.I know with botox it takes a few days to work.I do feel a heaviness and dull ache above my eyebrows ,is this normal?TO be honest i do feel a bit anxious now that the botox is in me be it a small amount .I have done all the right things and not lay done for 6 hours ,no excersise ,no massaging that area.I am a bit worried about it moving to another area .The nurse said it could only move to the eyelid and that would only happen if i were to rub my eye hard or she injected wrong. She told me that if used properly botox is safer than paracetomol.ITS just that ive read horror stories of people saying there throat closed over 3 weeks after being injected .My nurse said if you were to have a severe allergy to it it would happen the minute it went in to my skin. She explained that these people prob had there neck injected with to much botox and it moved and relaxd the windpipe .I just am a bit freaked out and should never have read the blooming stories. And i suppose just cos its on the web dosent mean its true.xx

Marcia - you are far more likely to have a car accident than for something to go wrong with the Botox - so don't worry about it. It's also quite normal to have a heavy feeling in the forehead after the first injection - but it will subside. The more times you get treated, the less it happens.

I've been using Radiesse. It gives immediate results (probably due to swelling at the injection sites) but I have been increasingly dissatisfied with the results....it just doesn't last for me. And I haven't seen any results from the promised collagen production. Some of my lack of tangible results may be due to my derm wanting "natural" results which accumulate over time. She advises that I wait at least nine months between injections, and I usually find myself wanting to re-do after a month or two.

My dentist--she is an artist, really--has recently begun to do juvederm. She has had it done herself, and she looks great! I am going to give juvederm a try next time.

Please note my age. Radiesse may work better on younger women, but it did not work for me.

Sorry for posting twice in a row, but I forgot to address the Botox issue.

I have had Dysport, not Botox, but it really is something I recommend. I've had these injections every four months for a couple of years now. What I have noticed is that my forehead never quite goes back to where it was before. Each time I go, I am at a better starting place than the time before.

Nothing beats Dysport/Botox for a quick improvement in 11's and eyebrow lift.

I've recently begun using Safetox to try to extend the results and maybe not have to use the Dysport any longer.....although I will use it if I need to keep those eyebrows up!

The fact is, it doesn't matter what you look up on the web, there's a horror story for it. But I look at it this way - look at all the things that can go wrong when having a baby! But that never stops women from wanting one - and the odds are that everything will be perfectly ok!

If we were to worry about the risks involved with every little thing we do in life, we'd never be able to get out of bed - but then, we might die in our sleep!!!

What your feeling is normal. I felt extremely anxious the 1st few days...was a weird feeling thats for sure. I had a feeling of heaviness in my forehead too, and also felt like my muscles were pulling and pushing like they were trying to get used it all. This subsided after a week and a bit. I think it was just some muscles were working harder to make up for the ones that weren't...if that makes sense. The great thing though is once it settled all my headaches were gone, and Im actually getting a few now as the botox wears off.So for me it ended up being a fab thing for anti ageing and anti migraines, but initially I didn't like the first few days of how it felt.

So what your feeling will subside. You'll be fine... Very Happy

Thanks ladies for your replies .Im heading in to day 3 and still see no results from the botox at all my 11"s are just the same.I can move my eyebrows and frown as normal.Should i not at least see some difference by now?.On the plus side the headache has subsided a lot today. My cheeks are a little plumper but nothing dramatic. The nurse said the result of the juvederm voluma will get better over the next week or 2.Does anyone know when its safe to use collagen lite therapy and tua trend .I read somewhere 2 weeks for the tua and the clt straight away .Anyone know for sure?xx

Didn't they inform you at the clinic that it will take two weeks before the Botox kicks in? It's too early yet to see any difference.

Half a ml in each cheek isn't much. If you look at how much that is in a dropper, it's hardly anything - so the results will be subtle. I usually get one ml in each cheek - but I would much prefer to get two - but it's just too expensive.

IMO it's ok to use an LED over Botox and fillers - but I would wait two weeks before using the Tua Trend.

HI yes your right 1ml between cheeks is not a lot but thats all she said i needed. It is really expensive and i couldnt afford another £200 for another 1ml.The nurse had told me i should see or feel something around day 2 with the botox but said it could up to 7 days.I sort of feel ive wasted my money on my cheeks to be honest unless they fill out a bit more over the next few weeks.I just need to win the lottery! xx

the worst thing about botox is that it takes five days to take effect! ha. both are great and make the quickets improvment in your looks. No waiting six weeks or six months for a cream or serum to do its thing.

Go for it..

Yes it always takes up to 7-10 days for me to get the full botox effect. That's why they say wait 2 weeks to have any adjustments or added units so as to have the complete picture.
Filler is instant but you can have some residual swelling with the area as well (or I do) so it takes a week or so to "settle" in for me and the bruising to go away.
Good things come to those who wait! Smile
