It is extremely important to have cleaned brushes to use on our skin. All the dirt, make-up and oils accummulate on make-up brushes and if we don't clean them, it also affect our skin, do you agree?
Curiously asking, how many of you clean your make-up brushes on a daily basis?
-What do you do (your routine) and use to clean your brushes?
-How do you make these brushes soft like brand-new?
-what is the best way to store these brushes away after cleaning?

I don't clean my brushes on a daily basis...wash them with Jane Iredale shampoo 1x/week. This shampoo keeps them soft and fluffy, though I have not tried a lot of other shampoo to comare it with.
I have had my brushes for 10 years now (Bobbi Brown, some Jane Iredale, Alima). I keep thinking I will have to purchase another set at some point but they are still remarkably nice brushes and don't shed, hold their shape etc.
Some are real hair and some are synthetic. Do not dry either type 'standing up' as the water will get into the glue and they will not last and start to shed. I like to have the bristles sitting lower than the handle as they dry to ensure that does not happen. I fold a facecloth in half and then roll one end over a few times. Place the handles on the rolled part and the bristles are now sitting on the rest of the clean facecloth about 1" lower than the handles...if that makes sense! |

Thanks myamax for your response. I will try your method to clean my brushes better. I do clean them everyday as I put make-up everyday...
I still have to find a small fancy container to put all my brushes together, as I do have lots I don't like synthetic brushes, prefers natural ones...
I do like soft brushes on my face when I apply make-up.
Do you have any routine that you do to make them even "softer" like brand new?
