Hi everyone, I was not sure if I should post this in the AALS or dermaroller threads - so I started a new topic.
Over the last 6 weeks the wrinkles in my forehead are SIGNIFICANTLY better, almost gone. However, the wrinkles around my eyes are much worse. So that is where I am confused - as I am doing using same products/treatments on both.
Also significantly improved is the tone of my skin. It is glowing - looks smooth and creamy - if that makes sense.
The only thing that I have most recently added back to my routine is vitamin C serum (DIY - use 3X per week at most) and DIY oil blends with Vitamin A. I have also added NCN Matrixyl serum that I use in the am.
My skin is dry and I am using a very heavy mositurizer (NCN bioactive day cream).
Here is what seems to be different for me (than others experiences with dermarolling/AALS):
1) Using a short needed (0.2) for product penetration. However, I sometimes get pin-point bleeding on my forehead and occasionally (rarely) on my cheeks. I have not heard of anyone else bleeding doing a penetration roll. I also "hear" it when it rolls across my forehead. Maybe it is going pretty deep - products are penetrating better - therefore making a bigger difference in the wrinkles (In other words that is why my forehead has improved more than other areas)?
2) After doing these light rolls, My skins feels so tight, burning that it is "screaming" until I apply oil. That soothes the tightness and burning, I just usually itch for about two hours.
3) After using the AALS, my skin is puffy and red for and hour. Even though I dont press hard, I have indentations on my skin for about an hour as well. The AALS does not seem to be helping the crows feet at all.
Any advice, thoughts?
Sorry for the long post. |

anyone?
I am just at a loss? Just looked at the mirror and am super discouraged when I look at the lines around my eyes. |

What I can think of, is that maybe some of the products you use (and I think particularly of vit. C because it's acidic and can be very drying) are not suited for the delicate skin around your eyes.
I roll with a 0.5 mm roller, get the popping noises especially on the forehead and sometimes pinpoint bleeding on the top of my cheeks (but never on the lower cheeks). I think skin varies in thickness on the face and the recommendations re. needle lengths are based on averages but can be different for individuals. And that you should go by what your skin tells you, or rather what the different parts of your face skin are telling you. Obviously the skin around your eyes is very delicate and needs a more soothing approach! Hope this helps! |

Hi erg, I think, at least my case that different areas on my face improve on varying time schedules. My undereyes, which is where I need the most help seem to be the area that takes the longest to see any positive changes. My overall face is looking much better but my eye is definitely dragging behind.

Vit C can be drying sometimes. I also have NCN matrixyl and I do like it but sometimes when I use it on my undereye area and smile during the day that area looks kind of crinkly.

I have very oily skin and my skin does feel much dryer after I have done a roll with the .02 roller. It does feel fine once I put some product on it.

The heat from the AALS can be drying to the skin and because your skin is dry/dehydrated it maybe why you are seeing the marks on your skin. Are you drinking enough water both before and after the treatment? Are you using any kind of serum/pretreatment product? This help with the dryness. Hopefully you can read this. I can't figure out how to quote the different sentences. |

Thanks Cookie and Lotusester - I appreciate your time and thoughts.
I think all of those are great points. Between hot yoga and the AALS I need to really drink more water. Great point about the vitamin C, I will try avoiding my eye area and see if that helps.
I am trying to find the best serum to use with the AALS - right now I am spritzing on Osea Vitamin Boost Spray or a DIY green tea mixture. Not thrilled with either.
