Can isopropyl alcohol be used as a preservative in a (MAP) C serum? Would it damage the molecules or make it less effective? Maybe even a drop of vodka would do? Its just a 1oz serum. I can deal with the drying effect of a tiny bit of alcohol.
I just got Optiphen only to find out its pretty toxic stuff. I just can't win. |

I don't know of any adverse effects with MAP & alcohol, but that doesn't mean there aren't any. And for alcohol to preserve something, doesn't it have to be present in the formula at like 40-70% or something? Ack! :P
If I were you, I'd just make small batches and keep them in the fridge. |
