Has anyone used both and do any of you have an opinion on generic retin-a vs tretinoin?
I ask because I was using Tretinoin gel by Janssen Cilag at the start of the year as i got it on prescription from my doctor. I knew she wouldn't give me another when it ran out so i ordered Shalaks microgel retin-a. When i applied it for the first time, i was surprised to see it wasn't like a gel at all. It's very greasy and more like a thick, watery cream. If have small pimples or spots on my face and apply this, it makes the spots worse, i assume because of how greasy it is.
The tretinoin i used was so much better as it was ACTUALLY a gel and it dried within minutes.
Would you say the generic microgel i'm using is even effective compared to the tretinoin? |

I have only used generic cream retin-a. It has always been creamy, white and mildly pearly. I have always gotten my generic retin a from the pharmacy in my town or from a pharmacy in mexico so I can't help you with any of the online places. |
