Good article!

So glad I stopped using that garbage long ago. I started using it a few years ago when my grandmother told me that it's recommended to her by dermatologists at the Mayo Clinic. Never again!

I agree.

Cetaphill didn't sufficiently clean my skin. And it was irritating.

I am surprised! It was Paula Begoun that introduced me to this cleanser.

Over time I have learned that I don't think following Paula is good for me. She might be good for some, but I find a lot of what she says to be nonsense. I think she's just as hyped up as some of these brands.

Paula no longer recommends Cetaphill.

She now recommends CeraVe in its place.

Hi BellaKai Smile I used Cetaphil before and I did not like it. It also did not do anything for my skin either. After I finished the bottle, I did not buy anymore. Waste of money I must say. I will not recommend it either.

I don't remember because it was about a year ago.

It made my skin break out and my face never felt clean. Not the best cleanser for me. I really like Cerave so far.

Swissmom,

Do you use CeraVe's hydrating or foaming facial cleanser?

I never liked the stuff. Tried a sample once and never used it again. Like another poster wrote, it didn't leave the skin feeling clean at all but I didn't realize how badly formulated it was until now.

Hi Veronica! Sorry I didn't get back sooner, I just now saw your post. I use the hydrating cleanser. I use it every night prior to the retin a. In the morning I alternate it with the Alpha Hydroxy glycolic cleanser.

I'm currently using CeraVe's foaming cleanser.

I wanted to try the hydrating cleanser but I worried that it wouldn't clean as well as the foaming cleanser. So, I chose the foaming cleanser.
