Seriously, but I bleed like that no matter how short they are. I will try .5mm or .25mm next time. |
Are you on any type of medication or supplements which could cause you to bleed like this? |
Nope...I even stopped fish oil because it made me bruise. But I do have very fair skin and have stayed out of the sun for the last 24 years. |

This was with the My-M at 1.0mm. We'll see what the damage looks like in the morning. |
Are you suicidal???
Your body isnt deficient in dropping blood.
Some micro damage is ok but not like that.
Your blood cleans you body.Dont waste your blood like that.It takes some time for the body to restore the red blood cells. |

Oh no! 1.0mm & just 10 seconds. I could only have a pinprick of blood after rolling for 20 mins on one cheek. My derma pen can hardly penetrate into the skin. |

I don't use 1.0 by the eye so maybe so much bleeding is "normal" . I believe dermapen suggests .25-.5 for around the eyes. |

Bethany!!
That sure is some bleeding
Thank you soo much for sharing, whoever said whatever they did should just B** o**!!
You have consistently posted honest pics of your dermarolling journey, and I for one am very grateful it has been your postings and pics that made me brave enough to attempt 1mm rolling.
`Given your experience now would you say ( maybe too early to say!) that the dermapen type device Is more effective that traditional manual roller?
(I still havnt sprung for the mechanical one was waiting for Owndocs one but not now ) |

A poster on the DJ thread had expressed doubt as to whether the My-M could actually penetrate the skin.
I think we have an answer.

From page 2 of this thread:
The folks at Dermapen acknowledge that they are not reinventing the wheel. "The technology is not groundbreaking," says Chad Milton, CEO and cofounder of the company. "We just innovated something that needed an update." Milton hints that he wants the next generation of the device to do exactly what doctors are hoping for: inject ingredients simultaneously during the needle use.
I wonder if James knows if they are any closer?

So here is the damage this morning. I only did my forehead, eyes, and glabellas....and I look like CRAP with swelling all over my eyes, bruises, etc. (but I am prone to swelling and bruising so YMMV) Because we had discussed the My-M not gliding well, I treated my eyes in more of a stamping motion, but didn't have the unit touching my skin much at all. Meaning that it didn't penetrate 1mm by any means. However, I did use HA and was able to glide on my forehead.
I also want to point out that I treated these areas for a VERY brief time. I didn't do much under my eyes because I was bleeding like someone had shot me, yet you can see that I am very bruised and swollen today...MUCH worse than with a dermaroller. FYI that I also did my forehead, and you can see that I had minimal bruising there.
I definitely think the automated pens have the ability to poke more holes, and we know Dr. F says that the more holes, the better the result will be.
Is the My-M the dream pen that I would like to have? No, but it is fine for my purposes now until something affordable with the right specs is available. I had no problems with vibration or other things that had been previously mentioned. (But if I was going to buy one today, I would buy the ibeauty with the german motor over the My-M).

The pigmentation is primarily along my jawline, and fortunately isn't too bad by most people's standards. But of course I see it every time I look in the mirror, sigh. I also have some PIH that has been there for YEARS after a pimple came and went. Those are like 2 spots on the side of my cheek.
My skin has always been fairly poreless, except for my nose (I have an oily tzone). Fortunately my skin protocol has made some significant changes there, and my nose now matches the rest of my face. |

I know what you mean. All my face except a quarter size are on my left mid/lower cheek is quite poreless but I tend to focus on that spot whenever I look in the mirror!
BY ur skin protocol do u mean needling/ReAura laser or also the topical u r using now? Thank you... |

Heck, after seeing that pic I would have asked the same question! But I have always bled like that. Here is a pic from 2009 where
I had already cleaned up the blood numerous times after dermarolling with 1mm needles.

Topical with salicylic acid. I think it really does clean the pores out. |

Thanks, I tried salicylic acid in the past but it didnt work for me re pore reduction in that particular spot, may be I ll try it again but as I am getting older my skin is becoming dry too so afraid of using any drying acids on regular basis. |

I was using Stridex pads (non-alcohol version) in the past, and they didn't work either. |

Bethany, I don't know if you have a ultrasound gadget but if you do you might want to try it on your strawberry blood spots. The Merbe really helped me clear out those bruised areas under my eye and on my neck after my DermaJet treatment. It didn't work as well on my forehead and cheek area. |
