I agree. You could tell there was a bit of weirdness with some of the things on the website, but what we have seen here is beyond bonkers. It's a pity. You know when someone is just ruining it for themselves and you just want to whisper "stop. Stop". But at least we know where our money is going and can make a choice not to pad the wallets of such people. |

I found the thread and read it.
At any rate ... the question was raised as to how to clean the pen needle cartridges and I didnt read on to see if it was answered but ... an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner will do the trick Ive heard. Then sterilize as usual. |

I can't help myself, have to get this off my chest so to speak...
I'm quite sure I have a reputation here and elsewhere as being a bit of a crank - cynical and suspicious...but then situations like this happen and I realize maybe I am not a cynic, just a realist.
I was asking that seller specific product questions here on the forum and she avoided them all while emphasizing to all of us how her company was the only honest one around...so...I go to her website and cut and paste her product guarantee here.
It was only after I did that, that she agreed to start testing her products *to back up the claims on her site* (the ones I posted here).
Interestingly enough, after the testing started, the product was withdrawn.
I rest my case. BFG |

I want little more than to believe that there are gadgets and creams out there that will make me pretty and keep me youthful. I want that hope in a jar...but the logical side of my brain just won't allow it.
We wouldn't accept less from the people who sell us products at the drugstore for aches, pains and other health issues, so why would we accept it from the cosmetic/beauty industry?
I see the same trend as keliu and my intuition about all this tells me something. I am willing to bet there are lots of eyeballs that lurk these posts for guidance.
Once the people who ask questions and test the products themselves are silenced, the eyeballs will go elsewhere...and that will really diminish this valuable forum.

Sorry to interject but I received this dermal needling pen today and already the "German motor" one quit working.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DR-SKINCARE-Rechargeable-battery-Auto-Derma-Micro-Needle-Stamp-0-25mm-2-0mm-/271259420360?pt=US_Skin_Care&hash=item3f285246c8
When I had it plugged in it worked momentarily, then the handle heated up and it simply quit working. This happened 3 times and then I gave up and wrote to the company. We'll see if they stand behind their replacement warranty.
The needles seemed ok - not bent or splayed - and it did leave pin pricks of blood at the 0.5mm setting on "high" so thats an improvement over rolling for me. Too bad the dang thing doesnt work! |

NO WAY....how disappointing! Did you try it not plugged in? (even though it says you can on the website)
BTW, Paypal will cover you regardless. |

Fawnie: such a bummer! I really hope the company responds decently. Still, its inconvenient. However, you can probably wait a few more days to poke thousands of holes in yourself |

Fawnie - that is very frustrating that your new needle-pen has hit the dust. Just goes to show that the only way of determining whether these non-brand name devices are any good is to try them - which makes us all total guinea-pigs. Oh well, so what else is new!!
I think if my el-cheapo My-M was to give up the ghost I'd get the brand name model at $500.00. Second choice would be the iBeauty model. |

So after a week of hiding and finally looking decent today, I decided to go ahead and do the areas of my face I didn't do last week.
That will mean another week inside, and me wishing I had done everything at once. But since I am not working right now I do have the time for complete seclusion so I am going for it. But that will be it for at least 6-12 weeks while I focus on other areas.
ETA: I will be using needles at a depth of .5mm max after my bloody experience last week. |

Bethany. I also prefer to have it all over with at once. But glad you are feeling well enough for another go.
I would too Keliu. Especially since we heard from James that it is the rebranded SkinPen, a direct dermapen competitor. Although I don't *need* it, the idea of being able to glide without sticking in certain areas on 1.5 sounds nice. Of course research might come out any day that we don't need to go deeper than .5, however unless these companies don't do any research at all it doesn't make sense that dermapen et al are making devices capable of longer lengths if they know that's the case. |

Hi Keliu- are you talking about the Belliare model My-m? Has anyone on EDS bought one of those ones yet? |

Yes, it's the Korean My-M - it's also now being sold by Palacia Beauty Device. I'd love to know what the difference is (if any) to the Chinese My-Ms.

WOW....I just did a .5mm pen treatment, and it was VERY similar to how everyone else describes their 1.0mm to 1.5mm treatment. Minimal pain (though I did use numbing cream) and some bleeding, though nothing like at 1.0mm for me. Now THIS is far more tolerable, and what I imagine most people experience.
Frankly, after doing this at .5mm with the pen, there is NO WAY that I am suffering through a 1.0mm treatment again. I think the lesson there is to find what works for YOU, and screw the clinicals. The 1.0mm was just too much suffering for me.
BTW, I had zero issues gliding with my My-M with HA. I was totally able to do circular motions, though we'll see how things look in the morning. |

FYI that my overall point is that if you bleed like Dr F's 3mm patients even though you are using shorter needles, you can probably dial it back it a bit. I would rather be able to complete a roll than not do one at all due to the pain or excessive bleeding, which is where I have been for the last few years. |

Fantastic! I dialed my last treatment back too Bethany. I bled and bruised a lot less, but still swelled like the dickens, especially around the eyes. Mind you, though I was only on .5 around my eyes, I still went over the area many times to make as many holes as possible.
You luckily escape that torture this time! I will be interested in how your eyes swell or not next time on .5 or lower.
My My-M glides on 1mm and below.
Results using my .5 - 1mm treatment seems to have been effective too. My forehead scar is now all normal new skin, no pink scar tissue, and almost flat to the rest of the skin. I wouldn't have believed it! If triggering inflammation is what causes the new collagen to kick start, then I get a huge boost from My-M. Swollen for days, peel twice. Afterwards, soft plump skin that just keeps improving. I hate the medicine, but love the results. |

Idealist, I have always tried to follow the clinicals and never really considered that I might be outside the norm. But I am finally realizing that I might not need as much trauma as some people because of my skin type (fair, never smoked, minimal sun exposure). And that might explain why things are so much more painful for me. |

Awesome - deescalation proceeds.
@Fawnie - New toy failure! Really sux, I know you were really looking forward to using it asap.
@Idealist - Forehead scar gone -- wow!! Was that w/ 1 mm? Over what period of time - with how many needling times?
@Bethany - ITA, less needle trauma prob best for your skin. (Good for me to know for down-the-road, also, 'cuz I'm very fair-no-sun-damaged-skin as well.)
Just as n FYI, all the needling device recs & experiences here, I listen w/great interest. |

Sisters tend to be evil enablers!!! Do you still own an LED - lie there with that on your face. |

I've used the my-m a handful of times, and I think it is becoming less effective. Although it is a plug in device, last time I used it, it seemed as though it were a device with batteries losing power.
