One big hint is deep discounts.
Always be suspicious of name brand items with deep discounts. |

and not just discounts
but products a cosmetic company no longer manufactures. (in one instance, manufacturing of a particular cosmetic product stopped in 2007).
...unfortunately, those discontinued products were known to be very popular with consumers...
Nevertheless, those same discontinued products are currently, in 2012, being sold on some sites as 'new and unused'
with up to 600% - 800% price markups!
Vendors/sellers do know how to bank on consumer desperation...
Probability exists that those 'new and unused' products are not even the 'real thing.' |

The beauty industry in particular is good on banking on desperation. It's so sad. That's why I'm glad about forums, such as this one. |

This scares the life out of me!
The only skin product I bought off ebay was my chemical peels. The special "cream" they sent me with it as a "bonus gift" was repackaged olay night cream, I recognized it right away! It always made me wonder if the chemical peels were legit... I mean they work, no bad reactions, but....
This almost scares me enough to chuck out what's left of my chemical peels and buy more expensive ones from a better website! |
