Hi guys
I'm looking to start the Obagi program, I'm not going to consult any doc, but simply use the steps on the website. A bit scared about the peeling and redness and all, but hey, no pain no gain, huh?
It says here that the blender needs to be mixed wiht a little bit of tretinoin cream. Where do I get this cream? Do I buy it separatly?
Cheers

July, if you have a good prescription drug plan you can get a prescription for retin a, differin, or the other one..can't remember it's name.
Anyways, if you get coverage for this stuff it's cheaper to go to the doctor and get a prescription for it. |

Do I just go in the pharmacy and buy? Is it that expensive?
Thanks for bearing with me. |

Don't worry about it...I'm trying to explain but find it hard to. If you still don't get it one of our UK memebers will have to clarify!
Here in canada and the usa you can get those products with a prescription from your doctor. If you have extended medical coverage you will only pay a small amount for the drug. |

July
only we are lucky enough to have a wonderful NHS system. at this contradiction in terms.
I think what Lianne is asking is do you have a private healthcare plan. Which you probably do not. If you can get this stuff on prescription from your doctor it will cost about £7 or whatever prescriptions cost here these days. OK.
you got to remember medical care in UK and USA is a totally different system. |

But can I go to my GP and ask for a prescription for this, Lori? |

You can ask your gp for a prescription. It is called tretinoin and i suggest you start at .25 percent. Good luck and if I can help anymore feel free to pm me, I am an Obagi user and can't rave enough about it.

I would think you should be able to.
However I have started Obagi and have not yet got up the nerve to go to GP and ask for prescription for it.
There we have it I am afraid of my doctor laughing at me and saying no. |

cluck cluck you can do it Lori . I get mine from my GP and she doesn't bat an eye. Just tell them you want it for acne outbreaks that is what retin a creams were originally intended for.
Make sure you get it before you start using expensive Obagi products , it would be a shame to waste them. That reads a bit bossy but isn't meant to be that way, it is this pouring down rain that makes everything I say come out pizzy lol.

Yes Miss
I know you are right. I should go but I never get acne and the only person I ever knew get a prescription for retin A is my cousin and she used to get really bad acne and the doctor only let her have it as a last resort. |

Where did you find it for £21?
That is a lot cheaper than I can find it. |

Ahhh!! I think that you forgot a 0!! The lowest percentage of tretinoin is 0.025% and the highest percentage is 0.1%. Can you imagine what .25% tretinoin would do to a beginning user!!!

It looks like I am fortunate when it comes to the cost of Retin A. Mine costs me a grand total of $3.00, do you not have prescription drug plans?
