I'm puzzled that they are studying exposure of LUNG cells to sun and zinc. I would prefer to see the results on skin, since I don't expose my lungs to the sun.
This study also appears to be done on smaller zinc particles, which there have been other concerns raised. Inhalation of zinc oxide (via spray or powder) is a concern even without sun exposure.
I know the EWG rates zinc as fairly safe based on multiple studies done on skin.
This study won't change what is use, but I'd be interested in seeing the follow up studies. |

So can we still use any form of zinc oxide without any concerns of cell oxidation?? |
