Do you prefer clear or creamy facial cleansers?
And why? |

I alternate between a creamy cleanser and a mud-based cleanser (Osea).
The creamy cleanser seems to me to do an amazing job of dissolving makeup and dirt, and leaving my skin feeling refreshed and alive and glowing.
The mud cleanser is more of a treatment cleanser that I use after working out, sweating, or as a deep cleansing treatment. I find that having both around are totally sufficient for all my cleansing needs.
That said, I think that clear cleansers can be good (Living Nature has a good one), but I have used Cetaphil's oily skin cleanser and it doesn't cleanse nearly as deeply as the cream ones do.

I mostly use OCM these days, but I prefer creamy cleansers (when I DO use one, lol) because they usually have more fat soluble materials and are therefore less stripping.
Clear surfactant mixes are usually formulated clear because they happen to look cool in transparent containers. There isn't really anything "special" about them compared to others. But the creamier formulas do usually have more oils, fatty alcohols, waxes, etc. so they are more moisturizing. I'm not saying that a clear one CAN'T be mild, it's just limit to certain ingredients because of aesthetics. |

I prefer creamy cleansers, but I would not have said this 10 years ago, because I believe the formulation was very limited and known to help clog pores.
Some of today's formulation are so much better. My first discovery was Cellcosmet and now I use La Prairie comforting cleansing milk.
They melt the makeup off without over drying your skin and moisturizing it. (note it won't clog your pores)
What I loved about Cellcosmet is that it has the right dose of jojoba oil.
La Prairie is more of a lotion texture.
Both are great with Clarisonic and none leave any form of residue, safe to apply on the eyes. |

I love sudsy cleansers. I don't care whose it is. I just want the suds. |
