So, I'm pretty religious about researching my skin care and only looking for things thathave long term results. I use high spf/ppd sunscreen regularly, tazorac at night, vit c in the mornings, a 40% lactic/glycolic once every other week. I reently added regular use of lightstim antiaging, and cerave PM for the niacinamide.
This work pretty well for me on a day in dy out basis. My sunscreen isn't the mostsometicaly elegant, and occaisionally I'm a little too agressive witht he tazorac, AHA, vitC routine and i get flaky. This doesn't bother me day in day out, the whole point is that my skin really looks far youger than it is (yay).
The whole idea is that when something where I really do care about my appearance comes along I'll be prepared. to that end I have to attend my boyfriend's 20th reunion this weekend. So, I didn't peel this weekend and I'm stopping with Taz after Wednesday to be sure I have no peelies. It is at night so cosmetic elegance of sunscreen doesn't matter. Does anyone have an short term things compatible with my regular products that I can use only on SAturday night or Friday-SAturday? I know that long term, what I do normally is the answer, but I'm hunting for that little something extra for the big event.
I'd really appreciate any tips anyone has. I've known aboutthis for 6 months but it seems to have crept up on me quite suddenly...
TIA! |

If you have dry skin or want a temporary plumping to diminish fine lines, start doing the Chizu Saeki Lotion Mask. You can see it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=uuTABEgbnwA
and read more here: http://hope-inablog.com/asian-cosmetics-for-beginners-where-to-start/the-beginners-guide-to-asian-cosmetics-part-5-the-lotion-mask-method/
It adds extra hydration for a temporary effect but if used AM and PM, you can achieve a continuous glow. I don't use it all the time because I want my apply retin A on dry skin.
My skin sounds like yours and I can deal with flakies and peelies by just using CC cream and a hydrating facial spray. But before an event I cease Retin A and glycolics for 4 days and wipe off remaining peelies with a microfiber cloth. At the last dinner party, two people asked what I was studying in University and I am in my 40s (thanks also to the dim lighting and a short skirt, hahahahaa).
Oh, almost forgot - Becca Skin Perfector in Pearl if you have light to medium skin gives an awesome glow.
Have fun at the reunion! |

Hello! The only thing I can suggest is for you to get enough hours sleep before the big day. If you are well-rested, you have more energy for the big day, esp. if you will be dancing all night |

I wouldn't do anything before a big event. I think what you are doing for skin care is good enough. Have fun at the reunion! |
