Hi!
I'm new to this community and to DIY-ing. I tried to make a Vit C serum following the 15% Vitamin C, E + FA Serum with Jojoba recipe from Kassy_A, but ended up with a lumpy mess, that separated into two layers. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?
For reference, here's the recipe:
1 tsp L-AA
1 tsp SKB
1 tsp Jojoba Oil
3 tsp H2O
1/4 tsp Ferulic Acid
1/4 tsp Vitamin E Oil
1/4 tsp Vodka or Witch Hazel (vodka is best and purest though.)
Here's what I did:
I first mixed the LAA in water, then separately mixed the FE in vodka. Both seemed to dissolve completely. I then added the jojoba and SKB to the FE solution, but despite a LOT of stirring, it wouldn't dissolve (formed jelly-like pearls). I didn't add any Vit E since I didn't have it on hand. At this point I mixed the two solutions together, but they separated into two layers. I also checked the pH which was very low ~1.5?
Is there a step-by-step recipe somewhere?

| Maybe you are missing an emulsifier? |

| the jojoba oil and vitamin E are floating to the top because there isn't an emulsifier. Try adding a little polysorbate to this, or just shaking it very well before each time you use it. |
