Hello EDS! I posted this topic at SCT, but the board is really empty and I hardly got any replies, so I'm trying again here. Below is the original post.

Hello.
So I've been searching through the forum and there's a lot of information about SA here, but hardly any products have been mentioned. I used to use a 2 % SA gel from Paula's Choice, but it ended up making my skin even worse and very red (and I hardly ever get red skin). I have also tried some stronger peels from Kavi, but being as stupid as I am, I actually bought the products and used them before checking the ingredient list. When I did check the list, I was mortified to see that they included menthol, so I stopped with the peels. These products I used have a lot of ingredients, and I'm pretty sure I had a reaction to one of them, and not to the SA itself. Therefor I want to find a product that contains as few ingredients as possible, thereby reducing the risk of having a bad reaction to it.
I'm also not sure what percentage of SA the product should have. I experienced no side effects with the 2 % (and 10 % if I remember correctly), so maybe 20 % is a good place to start?
I've been looking at --> (can't link to it cause I'm new) <-- because it only has 5 ingredients and the formula is alcohol free. The site also has a lot of information about their peels, so they seem pretty legit. Any opinions on this product or other recommendations? All input is really appreciated.
Btw, I know I could probably make a super awesome SA peel by DIY, but as this is acid I am very skeptical about doing it myself. I don't want to end up burning half my face off.
Just worried that doing a peel and KiNiaNAG might be overkill, do anyknow? |

Hi -
I do not use SA but you may want to try Make Up Artists Choice. http://www.makeupartistschoice.com
What are you trying to achieve and what is your skin type? Lactic acid may be more gentle (since you mentioned redness before) |

You don't really want to be going higher than 2% for home use, you could try the Paul's choice liquid exfoliant as it has the shortest ingredient list of the range. |

I'm trying to exfoliate my pores and my skin type is combination and acne prone.
@ebonyeyes1234: Paula's new product contains more then 2% SA so I doubt 2 % is the maximum for home use. Besides a lot of other companies sell SA in 5, 10, 20 % |

I had tried a sample of Paula's Choice new BHA9. It really does work on clogged pores. I ordered a full size plus some other products.
It is 9%. |
