does this mean that having a sauna or exercising helps with skin cell production?
wonder what effect this has on dermarolling and our understanding of how wrinking, brown spots sagging happens and what new treatments will come of this discovery.

It basically just said that the sweat glands held a reservoir of stem cells used in healing wounds. At this point it looks like wounding is still advantageous, but the source of the components for wound healing is slightly different than thought.

But I didn't see anything that said that sweating had any advantages for skin renewal.

what if dermapen then pico toner with ionic spray helps activate that reservoir of skin stem cells?

here's another bit of research:

Skin pretreatment with microneedles prior to pilocarpine iontophoresis increases sweat production
Clinical Physiology and Functional Imaging, 05/15/2013 Clinical Article

Collection of sweat via pilocarpine iontophoresis is commonly used to diagnose cystic fibrosis (CF), The results of this study suggest that microneedle pretreatment prior to pilocarpine iontophoresis significantly increases sweat production.

i think the easiest way to increase sweat production is to get on a treadmill Smile otherwise who would want to be sweaty all the time!

btw, if i remember correctly, Dr Pickart had suggested that new skin is produced from the hair follicles or something like this....

yea I'm with you, Daler, exercising intensely produces sweat (and better health). I seriously need to do more of that Smile
I was reading the other threads on Dermapen and Pico Toner and trying to figure out how they produce better skin. Possibly I should have posted there instead of starting a new thread

Boy, with the amount of sweat in my hot yoga classes I should be in good shape.

Seriously, the only thing I have noticed now that I am back to intense workouts is a glow to my skin.

dermapen causes injury n initiates the healing process which produces new collagen/elastin, i think
and Pico, increases atp in muscles n skin, i think n thus rejuvenates em...
