I read claims--on several forum posts and even on Paula's Choice's website--that Paula's choice liquid AHA exfoliating treatment is stronger than the gel or lotion treatments.
Why is that? And what do you think about that?
I thought that all of her exfoliants had 2% salicylic acid and were around the same pH. Hence, why would one be stronger than the others? |

Her liquid AHA is 10% which is stronger than her 5% lotion. Her 5% lotion is for daily use and the 10% is once a week treatment. She also has an 8% AHA gel but I don't know whether that's for daily or occasional use.
I would not compare the AHA with her 2% BHA because the two acids work on a different level. AHA's on the surface and BHA's deeper in the pore. |

I'm sorry. I mean BHA. |

Well the strength of both is the same which is 2%. However the liquid has Butilene Glycol which helps the product penetrate deeper into the skin. The lotion is more moisturizing because of the squalane and glycerin and maybe it doesn't penetrate as deep.
So, I suppose the same strength BHA can give different results based on the other ingredients in the mix.
In all honesty I tried the liquid and my results with it were not any better than what I get with Neutrogena's Acne Stress Control. I stick with Neutrogen anow because it's cheaper and I feel the cucumber extract calms my skin. |

I have been wanting to try Paula's Chouce 9% BHA. Thank you for mentioning it and sharing your experience with it. |
