I'm using a combo Lactic / Salicylic Acid Combination Peel.
Does it matter which percentage it's at?
I read an article saying anything below 10% is all you need and anything above is way too strong.

I have uneven skin, hypermigmentation, rough, oily skin, it's sensitive and prone to breakouts, that's why I'm not using Glycolic Acid, because apparently it cannot break through greasy oily skin.

Any thoughts?

What exactly do you look to do with it? Are you looking for something for daily use, once a week, an occasional deep peel?

I have not seen any salicylic products stronger than 2% for daily use.

What brand percentage are you using now?

It's a combo Lactic / Salicylic Acid Combination Peel at 30% for 6 treatments - one week apart

I'm trying to remedy uneven, rough, large pores, hyper-pigmentation, oily skin, lighten and brighten my skin tone.

Oh OK. Have you used any of these peels before? As for me personally, I have used 2% salicylic acid to control acne for years and I would not consider my skin sensitive at all. I used one of these peels at 20% strength and in all honesty I did not like what it did for my skin at all. I had frosting very quickly and my skin felt tight and dry for the entire week even with the use of moisturizer and sunscreen. At the end of the 6 treatments my skin showed no improvement at all. Acne, blackheads, whiteheads, uneven skin tone - it was still there.
Your 30% is stronger than what I used. I would just advise you to be very careful. Watch your skin carefully for irritation and don't keep it on any longer than recommended. Have a very basic moisturizer handy without any actives or some sunflower seed oil. The skin will be very sensitive right after and your regular moisturizer might be a bit much.

Do you have a neutralizer? It's OK if you don't, you just have to use a lot of water to rinse. It's better in the shower. To me that was very painful.

While I did not like what my 20% peel did for my face, I used it on my bikini line and knees and elbows and I loved it. No more ingrown hairs and super duper smooth knees and elbows.

Good luck with your peel. Be careful! Maybe you can start with a lesser concentration....

I haven't used a AHA Serum before, so maybe 30% is a bit too much?
I'll start at 10%, I'm being a bit too ambitious Laughing
The serum does come with a neutralizer

I have the new Paula's Choice BHA9. It is 9% bha. It is designed for a spot treatment. I use a small amount in the T-zone.

PC also has a weekly AHA product that is 10%. I have samples only and will order once I have used up some other stuff.

I think you could use it more than once weekly.

I did use the two products together at night with no problems.

Can I use a Vitamin A moisturiser and/or Vitamin C serum after a AHA/BHA peel?
Or should I avoid actives after a peel and stick with a basic oil?
Is Vitamin A a nesscity?

The instructions that came with my peel said to just use a basic moisturizer until the skin returns to normal.
Try it and see if your skin stings after you apply them. If it stings I think you should rinse off and use some kind of oil. Sunflower seed oil is rich in linoleic acid and it helps to rebuild the skin barrier and keep it healthy. You can add a few drops of vit E to it. I bet that would be really nice.

BTW - what kind of vit A moisturizer do you have?

I really want that 9% BHA. I wonder if it would work on whiteheads. I have a few gigantic ones.

It's a Vit A cream from "Forever Young"
these are the ingredients

"Vitamin A Lipospheres, MSM, Hyaluronic Acid, Water, Rosewater, Glycerine, Sodium Lactate, Almond Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Cherry Kernel Oil, Shea Butter, Emulsifying Wax, Cetyl Esters, Isodecyl Neopentanoate, Alkyl Benzoate, Gluconolactone, Sodium Benzoate"

It sounds like the Vit A cream is just a mild daily peel in a cream form.
I think I'll stick to the AHA/BHA serum but in a low concentration and stick to the Vit C serum.
