i have been losing a lot of hair lately and so I just bought MSM(500 mg) from walgreen.Could someone tell me what is a safe daily dosage?I did read here that it could cause dry skin. And also,it increases the energy level, which implies one might have trouble sleeping.I'd be happy if you could share your expeirence. And also, how do you all combat the dry skin coz of MSM?IS increased u ptake of water enough?

I've just increased my dosage from 1000mg to 2000mg. I've not noticed any dry skin (it's still combination) and I certainly haven't noticed any increase in energy levels. I'm as lethargic as usual. Very Happy

I'm not sure how many mg's I take, but I've taken large dosages 6-12 capsules a day for melasma and body aches and pains and have had no problems sleeping or with dry skin. I'm very happy with the results when it comes to the melasma.

sats, your hair does cycle through periods where you lose a lot of hair and when you don't. Factors that can cause hairloss are
-pregnancy
-thyroid (have this checked if you're tired a lot)
-hormones

There's other reasons too (search google), but I doubt its the MSM

I take 1000mg a day and no hair loss or hair growth....no hair change at all. Just no cystic acne.....that's why I take it.
