Has anyone used this calculator? I would like to make Kassy's Dermarolling serum using:
Vitamin A (retinol) where 1 drop = 2500 IU
Vitamin C (ascorbyl Palmitate) where 1/4 t of powder = 428 milligrams
Red Palm Oil
carrier oil
OIL BASED A/C/E SERUM FOR DERMAROLLING
7% THDA (tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate)
2% Virgin Palm Oil
1% Retinyl Palmitate
90% Carrier Oil (I'd suggest something light that penetrates easily like macadamia nut oil for instance.
I'm making 100 grams not for any other reason except I needed to pick a total amount. I have a scale that measures grams/oz/etc.
I know I'm challenged. Please take pity.
Thanks!

You're probably going to laugh after I tell you this, but you don't even need to use the calculator for a batch like this!
If you are making a 100 gram batch and have already decided on this recipe (which lists the percentages of each ingredient) you can just weigh out each ingredient's percentage in grams and it will equal 100% and 100 grams total.
Weight out:
90 grams of your carrier
7 grams of tetra-c
2 grams of palm oil
1 gram ret palmitate
and mix them together. And you're done!
If you're using the more solid palm oil, it get more complicated (I think palm KERNEL oil is semi solid and palm FRUIT oil is liquid at room temperature.)You'll have to slightly heat/melt it into your carrier oil first. |

Yes, it did make me laugh...I guess what I was concerned with was using liquid vit A. I didn't think that I could weigh liquid like I would solids. Plus I just like someone that knows what they are doing to look it over before I harm myself with too much.
Thanks! |
