Hi Ladies. I am so very upset! I am getting a new type of zit. New to me means I have had lots of zits of all sorts in my 38yrs, but this one is really bad. Ok, it is very hard granule, like a seed. It is not milia, I have had two of those before, these are zits. If I don't pick them they get huge and come to the surface and have to be removed. I just removed my first one ever and it popped out like a pearl, but my face still is oozing and it feels very hard still like there could be more? It is a very strange zit indeed. I have smaller versions other places, these are only on my lower cheeks and cheekbone. If I try to get them out early before they "fester" they just swell worse and the skin is marred from picking. If I really wanted to dig this zit out, I know it would leave a gigantic whole. I am just totally upset and perplexed by how evil these zits are. I don't know why I am suddenly getting this "style" of zit, but I know they have the potential to do some serious scarring and leave holes behind. Has anyone else had this type of zit? I am going to see a Derm asap. Thanks so much ahead of time!! |

It might be the same thing that I've seen on my face a couple of times. One doctor once explained to me that sometimes when there's an infection the skin forms a barrier around the pimple/cyst/boil. It's like a hard membrane surrounding the pus. If you pick at them before they are ready the membrane might burst below the surface of the skin spreading the infected pus and making things worse. So you have to be patient with them, applying warm compresses if you can several times a day until they come to the surface. Most of my skin breakouts are under control now, but if I do feel something coming on I apply a 10% benzoyl peroxide (a whole big glop of it) right on top of the zit, cover it with a micropore paper tape and keep it all night. This has worked pretty well for the most part.
I don't know if that's what you have but good luck in treating them. |
