Hello all,
I am very well aware that Obagi is a "hot topic" on here and I feel fortunate to have gained so much information in general on what to expect while using, side effects, general length of time to see results, etc.
That being said, I am full force (more or less, have learned more isn't better, so if I get too irritated now, I back off for a couple of days, especially on the RA, which has been upped to .1%). I put this on with the blender about every third night and I am DEFINITELY peeling, for sure (used a washcloth last night and tons of peelies came off). However, I am getting very frustrated, specifically because although I avoid direct sun as much as possible always, and use a SPF50 DAILY no matter the weather, ANY sun exposure definitely makes everything worse and it's impossible to completely avoid ANY sun especially where I live (it's damn sunny when it's 20 degrees outside and snowing!). My slider blinds are NEVER opened, I am terrified of the damn sun with all the damage it has caused me (and I used to LOVE everything sun, the beach, being out with it hitting my face with the sun roof open, etc.). Not so anymore..I avoid even leaving my house most days as the contrast of the hypo I have (mainly upper cheeks and worse under my left eye, all the way toward the inner corner) is made MUCH MUCH worse by ANY sun exposure even with protection and makeup that also has spf!!! WTH>>Do I live the rest of my life as a vampire and avoid it altogether or should I possibly try something else? I know with Obagi that it all looks worse before it looks better and granted I have had a couple of WOW days where my skin looks almost amazingly more even toned. However the vast majority of days, I am so bummed out and feel like it looks SO ugly I don't leave my house. Seeing a derm is impossible (no health insurance, no full time job and no money really these days) and I don't have a doc nor can I afford one. When I had steady income I did see two derms, both told me the hypo is "sun damage" nearly immediately after examining it (the last guy with a Wood's Lamp to rule out vitiligo, confirmed it's not that but it's just as ugly and unsightly)...my hypo sometimes looks white, to me, but in reality is more of a yellowish discoloration that has a bit of hyperpigment mixed in, how lovely! NOT!
Any and all comments/input/suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. I have dedicated myself to getting through at LEAST sixteen weeks of Obagi this time around (yes, I freaked last year on my first try and stopped around five weeks). I am only on week one this time, so perhaps need to be more patient? I HAVE seen changes in this short time though for the better if that makes any sense. |

you have to stick with obagi dilligently and religiously to get a good result. it is painful but it really works. The problem is returning my freckles again once the regime is over. I am looking for the replacement of Obagi. |
