I've been wondering if Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer with SPF 20 is enough for protection in the summer? I live in Chicago so the summers do get pretty hot and very sunny. However, I always wear a sunhat if exposed to the sun for longer than 10 minutes.
I'm half Asian so I don't burn easily but I freckle and get hyper pigmentation so I realize how important sunscreen is. I'm hesitant to use any further sunblock because I have yet to find one that doesn't break me out.  |

Hi Penta, I would think that the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer would not be enough sun protection because you probably aren't able to put it on thick enough. Maybe you can try one of the powder sunscreen like Color Science or Peter Roth either on top of it or in place of. I haven't ever tried them on there own but others on EDS have and they have liked them. |

| Jane Iredale has a powder sun screen in 3 shades. Since you are Asian, I would go someplace and try them on as the Asian gals where I work had a hard time picking between the 2 darker shades. |

Thanks, girls. It's just so weird to me that one would burn even with a sunhat on. My face is usually completely shielded from the sun so I don't understand why the freckling/hyperpigmentation would even happen  |

| The sun come from above (of course) but it also reflects off things on the ground and bounces up. Since you are protected from above, I would guess any damage you see is from UVA/UVB rays reflected off things on the ground. |
