Hi everyone,
So hopefully this is the correct place to post this.
Anyway, I have recently started to remove my facial hair through waxing, epilation (not the best!) and threading. And I have started to break out within 2 days. The worse is that the breakout lasts for so long to the point that I have to get the hair removed again and its a horrible cycle.
When doing this, I always ensure that everything is sterile and based on the advice of one of my friends, I do a egg whites mask after. However, no matter what, I always break out.
So I was wondering if anyone else also uses any of these hair removal methods and if you have any similar experiences to me and what you do to prevent it.
Thanks |

Well I'm certainly no expert here, but it seems that putting egg whites on after could be problematic. I would think it could harbor bacteria and with opened, irritated follicles that could be the problem.
Maybe try a low level salicylic acid? Like a 1 or 2%. It would help clean out the pores, but at that level hopefully not sting too much. |

Lol! I mean open, irritated pores.
Whatever ... it seems putting egg white on would just be asking for a bacteria fest. If you really want something natural, honey might be OK ... it at least has anti-bacterial properties.
But still, I'd go with the salicylic. |

Never heard of the egg white before.
I understand as this is a common reaction to most hair removal techniques.
I have found that if you cold compress with a water moistened tissue straight after & apply some cold pressed Vit E oil you should have no problems.
Vit E is an anti Inflammatory & healer to the skin. |

This is common and can happen when hair is pulled out at roots. Try using a BHA product. |
