This is actually my first post and I searched through EDS forums to try and see if this topic had been covered already. I do apologize if it has. Embarassed My question is I'm on the hunt for a great powder sunscreen so I can reapply throughout the day and I have 2 in mind already.

This one item called Privacy UV Cut Powder. It's a Japanese product. It has ingredients like Zinc oxide, Titanium dioxide, and Tinosorb M. I don't know the percentage.

and

The Colorescience Sunforgettable SPF 50 Powder with Zinc oxide 24% & Titanium dioxide 24%. I'm planning on just getting the refill as it costs less and I "could" if ok transfer it to my container I have.

So that's my plan. I would like to transfer the products that I would buy into another container.

My container is something called Chasty Powder Case with brush. It's a refillable powder container like the Colorescience one but cuter and my friend gave to me so I want to use it.

Confused How would oxidation play a role in this? Would the efficacy of the sunscreen in the products decrease by me exposing it to air? Is it a better idea for me to just leave it in what it comes in? Or is it totally fine for me to continue with my plan? Thank you to anyone who answers Very Happy

I think you'll be ok with this. Most of the powder sunscreens don't really have containers where air doesn't get to them. For example, I have the Colorscience Orb. After you twist it open, there is a powder puff and under that the powder comes out of the holes. Not at all secure from air hitting it. I think transferring it to another container should be fine and oxidation won't be an issue.

I would just say to wear a mask so u dont inhale all the dust while transferring and dont worry about oxidation, it's not ascorbic acid !... also I can never get myself to use sunblock in powder form as I believe that I ll inhale some while applying n it's going to get deposited in my lungs for good! I have one from peter thomas roth from few years ago but used it only twice or so...
