I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the Green Peel or has had one?
I am looking at having one to help with the few little pimples I have left over as well as uneven skin tone, scars and freckles. It appeals to me a lot more than a chemical peel as I know a lot can go wrong there.
What I want to know is:
Did you need to have a consultation first?
Did they take before and after shots?
What did the procedure involve?
Did it hurt? Was it bearable?
What take home products were you given?
Was it hard not to get your skin wet for the 5 or so days?
Did your skin scab, or did it just peel?
Did you look hideous?
What did the follow up beauty treatment involve?
Did you get the results you wanted?
Did your skin show significant improvements?
How many peels did you have, and how many do you think I would need?
Can anything go wrong?
Do you think it would be ok to use on my skin, as it is quite young (I am 1Cool
Thanks! Wink

Yeah have done a net search already- was hoping for some personal experiences.
It's a treatment by a beautician too, not something you do yourself.

Hi all,

I tried TCA peel, which is exactly the same as Obagi Blue peel(ingredient is the same but just the tint), just not the blue tint. From what you described, the green peel can be same as blue and TCA, you should ask your doctor about that.

IF they are all the same, then...After the first peel, pimples, some scars may still be there after the peel. Of course they is always risks, but under a doctor's supervision, you shouldn't be fine, unless you decide to jump up and dance the acid INTO your eyes.

Consultation -- some do , some don't , some charge you for that, some don't, some can start the peel after the consultation, some will give you a n ointment to bring home (eg. Retin A) for you to use that for 2 weeks prior to the peel.

Yes, they will take a poloroid camera up, and ready to shoot. But you can always say NO. Some other clinic have you sign the "it's your own risk" doc, and that doc would ask you if you want to be photographed or not(decent way).
Procedure involves (Do you really want to know ?)Doc put the chemical on you and let you burn to a certain color, he then neuttralize it. At this moment, you won't be able to open your month and scream, cause you will feel that sudden guesture will crack your face in halves. The burning part is HELL, but it only lasted 3-5 mins. WAs it bearable ??? well, I am still alive, and what else can you do at that time with your eyes taped and all, acid is on your face doing their work, what can you possibly do ??? It doesn't burn at the frist layer, then when the doctor starts layering....OMG.

I have no take home product, Doc said people put Vaseline on it to keep moist. The one I tried I can take a shower even, but my burnt face can not be directly inder the shower. Did my skin scab ??? MY WHOLE FACE was 100% genuine leather, NO makeup can cover that, so you really have to stay home, I didn't even go down and check my mail for 5 days. My face was a brown mask. The word Hideous won't do it justice. Although, it only turned brown on day2(the day after the treatment). On day3, bits and pieces start to peel when I wash my face in the morning, and some skin hanging out from your skin, it's not funny. My doctor didn't require a follow-up. I see nice fresh skin underneath, but THE WORST PART/DANGER is when only some strip and pieces left on your face on your day4, and you peel the rest off (NOW that will give you scars, this is the part where can go wrong). I don't know your skin, most doc tell you as you progress.

I don't have wrinkles on my face, I did it bc of my freckles and acne marks. But due to the brown leather mask on my face for 4-5 days, my face couldn't breath normally, so I have NEW pimples underneath the mask(very common), so my result is not worth it.

Good Luck, and hope this helps !
D

I am pretty sure it's not like a TCA or blue peel. The Green Peel is a herbal peel which is gentler than chemical peels. Smile

I have the green peels done often. I actually had one done a few hours ago. If you have this peel done make sure it is with a great tech. If your face girl is good she will not allow you to get a peel with out a few facials first. my favorite skin care line is Jassen. I love the green peels they are so much better then the acid ones. The results are way out do any acid peel I have ever had. It does hurt to have it done feels like glass being rubbed into your skin. but that is for only 10 minutes or so. You cant get your face wet for 5 days and there is a speciat soultion you use omn your skin after wards to clean and care for it. I dont know where your located at but there is a great spa in dallas that does this peel and some really awasome skin work. The lady that owns it has done a great job of restoring my skin. I work in this industry and know what goes on "behind" the closed doors. Most people I would never allow to touch my skin. Especially to peel it. the herbal peel is very diffrent then any other peel, it goes in and creates growth and regenerates old cells. I have beautiful skin it is what most people notice first, I did a lot of research on the effects of peeling I would stear clear of acid peels and Obagi Blue peels research has shown that they harm the skin in the long run by stressing out the skin surface. Many people get positive results from them but after a while they do more harm then good. if you have a specific question about the peel just let me know. also I would never apply a vaseline on my skin for any reason it is a petroium product that sits on the skin smothering it and creating more issues. Did you say you were 10? If so then close the book on these issues and come back when you are 15 . Like I said look for a salon or spa that uses Jessan products get your skin regulated and undercontrol with out useing hash acid products.

There is information about the Green Peel below

http://www.julietsdayspa.com/services/1.php
http://www.julietsdayspa.com/services/17.php

However, if you want to chance it you can buy it on ebay and do it yourself for about $30-50.
Plus, the same active ingredient is in Obagi Blue and green Peel treatments.

I want to comment on the poster who stated that a Green Peel has the same ingredients as the Obagi Blue Peel. This is incorrect because the Obagi Peel is a TCA acid peel and the Green Peel is algae and herb based and contains no acids. That said, I found a great home version of a Green Herb Skin Peel. What I like about the Herbal Power Peel is that you can customize it for your needs. You can just use a small amount and mix it with your facial cleanser and it becomes an exfoliating scrub, or you can use more product and get a stronger effect like microdermabrasion, or you can make it more intense for an actual peel. You can do a search for Herbal Power Peel.

I did one about 11 years ago, an esthitician applied it. It was painful, and it peeled, and I did look bad four at least four days. I had peeling after that. I don't remember any spectacular results...but its been a long time. I was 35 and had a lot younger skin!
