Looks great, and under $14!
I think I will put this on my list.

Definitely.
Sea kelp is potent in iodine.Iodine is a miracle
when it comes to skin tissue.
Iodine is one of the best anti-fibrotic agents.
Any more opinions?

I was actually going to ask you guys- I know about their Sea Kelp Kit, the "Creme de la Mer" on a budget. What I wanted to know is, do they sell any of those ingredients separately? I already have a cream I would love to mix the sea kelp bioferment in. Is that possible?

Yes, they do sell the bio ferment separately.

http://www.skinactives.com/Sea-Kelp-Ultramarine.html

(Not sure what their UK site has though...)

The coral looks very intriguing, wish I didn't have so much stash already of bioferment or I'd get some of this...might get some anyway
Laughing

PS: ellaelise, if you order this, get some of their L-AA vitamin c powder too. Mix it with some bioferment and water and you can get a cheap vit c serum that would work well on oily skin. You'll need to check of the DiY threads for the exact amounts, 10-15% vit c would be a good place to start. It's really easy. Skin actives may have a recipe as well. Just mix small amounts as the C can oxidize quickly in large amounts. I actually mix mine daily in the palm of my hand and apply freshly mixed.

I see that they add it now to the Sea Kelp kit? Has anyone used that kit with good results?

Is there one already made and I do not know what it is called? Looking for the Crème La Mer knock-off.

Yeah, now the link to the Sea Kelp Ultramarine takes you to Sea Kelp Coral. I guess it's their replacement product? Question

Yes, it is the replacement product. They said that the Sea Kelp Coral is a much better formulation than Sea Kelp Ultramarine and they will only sell the Sea Kelp Coral from now on based on customers' rave reviews....

Ya I just noticed this on the Skinactives site and want to order this plus the European cream. I'd love to order the kit instead though, but does anyone know if the canvas base cream can be replaced with the european cream?

I just received mine. I ordered 4 small tubes of Dermagen and combined them with half the sea kelp coral. It makes for a nice serum (perhaps a bit thicker than I would like, but still ok). I have been a huge fan of sea kelp bioferment since the early days of Skin Actives. It has a million different uses and really, you can mix it with anything. I thought the ultramarine was too heavy and greasy. I'll try the coral product tomorrow on my hair. I always loved the bioferment as a leave in hair conditioner and hopefully the coral will work as well.

I just ordered it along with the european cream, the every lipid serum and the hair tonic stuff. Can't wait to receive them! I'll follow the basic recipe on the youtube video to make a cream and use it after my current cream runs out.

I'm also very curious about whether I see any results on my thin, fine hair with the hair tonic.

Do you use it "straight" or mix with something else?

I got the kit and mixed it up, more of a cream than lotion consistency. Very soothing and moisturizing. I did accidently pour in the peach scent rather than a drop, ugh. My mistake.

I just placed a second order for a bigger jar (8 ounces). I've been using it mixed with a little decyl glucoside as a facial cleanser, straight as a leave in hair conditioner, and mixed with Dermagen and a little matrixyl as a serum. I didn't think this was possible, but I might even like it better than the original sea kelp bioferment. The big advantage is that it doesn't leave that tight feeling and it doesn't flake.

Great info, I had not thought to use on my hair. It doesn't make it crunchy feeling?

In the description for the Formulation Kit for Beginners it says:

Quote:
A happy client wrote "...dampen your hair and rub a bit of the Sea Kelp Bioferment into your scalp. Leave it for a good while. It will make your hair grow, as the nutrients in it are so good for that. Another little trick I've found is to leave the Sea Kelp in your hair after its washed, what a shine you will get."

Not the first time I have read that sea kelp makes hair very shiny. Panda1, have you noticed this effect, too?

I want to make my own conditioner and can't decide if I should invest in sea kelp bioferment or use algae extract ... Confused

Sea kelp bioferment does make hair shiny, and "some" have reported new hair growth and thicker hair. I really like the new sea kelp coral, but I think I still prefer the original bioferment for hair. Maybe I'm just too used to the bioferment and the more I use the new coral in my hair the more I will like it. You can purchase 2 ounces of sea kelp coral for a little more than $13, so it might be worth a try. I would use it once or twice by itself as a leave in conditioner to see the effect and then when you do make your own conditioner you will have some idea of the proportion you want to use. From my experience, algae extracts can be heavy and a little oily.

I received this yesterday and mixed it up with some of the European cream to make a moisturizer - I mixed 3 parts European cream to 1 part of the seakelp coral.

So far I really like it - I got the ELS as well, and am putting the cream over the ELS. I only use one pump of the ELS, spread it over my skin and then use the cream.

It absorbs well into my skin and I was pleased with how my skin looks this morning after using it last night.

I'll post an update after I've been using it for a month or so.

Those using the Sea Kelp Coral... do you know what the consistency is supposed to be when you mix it with other products? Meaning, should I mix until it becomes completely smooth, or is just "folding" it into other products okay? As in, that sort of goopy-chunky texture... should it be mixed smooth or kept that consistency? I hope I'm explaining myself okay, I haven't slept Laughing I'm just thrown off a little bit from it... I'm not sure how to use it. When I try to just put it on my face, I have chunkies from it on my face, so I feel like I'm really not doing it right...

I just grab a scoop in my hand and apply it directly. No lumpiness for me. Or if I mix it with my cream I grap a scoop of the Sea Kelp and then a scoop of the cream and rub it in my hands and then apply to face. Probably the lazy way but I dont think it makes much of a difference!
