Hello everybody!
I'm a 20 year old male that has some problems with my facial skin. I used benzoyl peroxide in my mid teens to treat acne of which has caused me problems later in life. The problems happened as soon as my skin stopped being oily. To cut the story short, my face has now got fine lines around the mouth and forehead and the skin has itself suffered as it looks like I've damaged the skins collagen.
My main concern here is not how i can fix this, but what to avoid when fixing this. I've searched around on the web but i could not find the answers I'm looking for.
I'm wondering what products to totally avoid when using the Derma roller. I've read that you should not be using anti-inflammatory ingredients when using the roller as it counter acts the inflamed skin response that the Derma roller is used for. Now what i want to know is, is this just for after Dermarolling or is this to totally avoid completely? I'm using a product with Niacinamide in it and that is itself anti-inflammatory. Could i continue to use this product with Niacinamide a few days after rolling or do you have to avoid anti-inflammatory products altogether?
I'm using a 0.5mm weekly.
Many thanks. |

I can't really answer your question (hopefully this bump will bring this to the attention of someone who can!) but I do think you should go to a 1.0 or 1.5mm roller every 4-6 weeks instead of the .5mm if your main concern is fine lines. I know the .5mm is mainly used to help your skin absorb other products better, it doesn't actually produce much collagen growth itself. I assume collagen growth is your goal considering your question Just throwing that out there for you. |
