Which peel gives the best results? Which peel gives the best results with less flaking? Last question, will a series of peels equal the results of stronger peel such as a 30% TCA?
The reason I ask, I don't know if it's possible for me to have a downtime of 8 days.. more like 4 days.
* I don't have problems that I am trying to fix such as pores, acne scars, etc... I have nice skin but want to combat fine lines, etc.
Thanks! |

TCA peels give lots of flaking, starting around 3rd day or so n can continue for a week or so...
u can try layering 12%, may be 3 layers or so, 1 to 2 minutes apart, to get a stronger peel safely but pls be careful TCA is strong stuff n can cause scarring if used unwisely... |

Thank you, Daler! Perhaps the 30% peel will be fine if peeling doesn't begin until day 3. That will only leave 4-5 days downtime I suppose.
Also, can you give me an idea of how much peeling there is at day 6 & 7? I would be great is there was a website that offered photos of what to expect each day |

pls, do NOT use 30% TCA peel if u have not used TCA before, u may v well end up burning ur skin!!! Start with 12 % or may be, may be 20... on ur own risk though... its not much by t 6th or 7th day but some flakes, embarrassing when they hang from ur nose! lol |

If you already have good skin I would not use 30% TCA. Its very strong and will give you peeling for 7-10 days.
If you want to combat wrinkles I think its best to use daily skin care for this. Are you using retin-a or similar? Daily sunscreen? |

TCA peels work great..but you always start at 12% and increase in strength slowly if you need it.
Go to the Make up artists choice website ..they sell them and have good advice on how to use them.
I started with 12% ..did that and got really great results. Then I would layer it after I used it a few times..and my skin handled that fine. Layering it makes it like a stronger peel.
Now I do 18% strength. I'd never consider a 30%..because i really don't need one that strong. |

Makeup Artists Choice also has an 8% TCA peel (for wimps like me ... ). I've got the sample size and was planning to do it over the long Memorial Day weekend. Been sort of working my way up to it by alternating MUAC's 40% lactic acid and 25% mandelic acid peels once a week.
hotdocgirl - had you done any other peels before you started with the 12% TCA? How often do you do the 18% now? |
