Elllo, I enrolled in aesthdics school for next fall...thing is they want the students to work on each other, I have a really strict routine and I hate wearing make up.However I was told that in order to do the program there is no way I can't have my make up or a facial or somthing done...
I emailed them and asked them to re-consider and let me take clinents only but they rejected the idea....Ive been totally freaking out over here! haha I know its kinda silly I mean most girls would love to get there face done like that everyday buuuuut I don't! My skin is clear and beautiful right now and all I want to use are organic products.
I have super sensitive skin, mild to sever acne(its gone now but thats due to my routine),ezema head to toe, phyosis, allergies to sunlight and I have experianced chemical burns from facial products my face doesn't like...
gahhh I'm just upset they want to do it-everyday-, I'm even considering not going but it would just be stupid I am getting 20 college credits,an assoates degree in buisness and some elective credits,an internship, free trips to the spa and its only costing 350$...
sooo I think I'm just going to have to suck it up huh...I think the best idea would to bring my own product in so I was wondering if any of you had suggestions for mostly organic products.? I think I found somthing for th facials its called-sweet sation very berry masque...
I still need somthing for:
Waxing
Toners
Body scrubs
and wraps
things of that nature...things that are gental I only wash my face twica day and apply serum afterwards but I have the feeling I'm going to over work my face!!! I'm so just..."dizzy" over this, can ya'll help me see the light maybe?haha....
Btw if anyone has questions on how I cleared up my face I'll help ^_^. |

Well, that sounds ridiculous. Maybe you can get a doctor's note or something. I certainly wouldn't want my skin used and abused with questionable products - I don't even really like going for a makeover or facial because they usually handle my skin in ways I find too harsh. |

honetsly, I think it's fair for em to ask you this, if you are going to learn by using other people's faces then why not em?
yes,ask em if you could take your own organic products to be used on you.... |

When I took my esthetic classes; we did work on each other. It was mandatory. We were allowed to bring product from home.
I was thinking of going to hair dressing school years ago. I was told up front when I took the tour that students (all students) work on each other. Then they work on the general public. |

I don't imagine you will get out of having things done to you. And yes, you will have the worst skin of your life during school. When I went to Aveda, every girl broke out and got irritated.
Imagine washing your face for 1 hour straight. Because that is how long it takes the whole class to get the technique right. Or even longer! Facials are great, but not one every day for 2 months. And waxing? How do you practice on? Yourself and your classmates. My first day of school they told us to stop shaving on that first day to ensure we had leg/under arm/arm/brow/lip hair. If you had laser hair removal, we still waxed that area because it wasn't fair to your waxing partner to miss out on a chance to learn.
You need to use the product the school is using while at school. |

When I learned dental anesthesia we rookies practiced on each other. Many days and many shots with a numb face... I'd take a facial anyday. |

I wonder if you can learn about what products they used.If you do can't accept it,you may ask if you can use your own organic products. |

Thank you all so much for replying,I've calmed down some...haha I am going to take my own product in,my instructor did give me the skincare line they use and I'd just feel better to bring my own things in,I don't want to use a toner everyday so I just decided to empty out an old bottle and fill it with water..haha feels like I'm cheating but gotta do whatcha gotta do..I'll bring real toner in occasionally .
And about that dental practice! Yikes!!! your right facials do sound 300%more appeailing ..I can't spell btw haha.
So anyways I'vee decided to suck it up lol I may dilute products with water or somthing though... |

I don't understand why it matters what product line you use. The goal is to learn technique - not to suffer through rashes and bad skin reaction. If you can't use a product - you should be able to substitute something that is okay. |

And sorry if I sounded harsh. When I was in school, we weren't even allowed to wear makeup of a different brand. they had "makeup checks" where we had to tell the instructor what color lip stick we were wearing and it had better be their brand!
And even if you can substitute spring water from the Swiss Alps, rubbing water on the face for 3-4 hours a day will cause you issues! Not many people can handle that much stimulation on one area.
But as mean as all that may sound, the instructors did cut us some slack near the end. Hopefully your state requires 600 or less hours so you will be done in less that 6 months! |
