Have there been any high end brands that you were disgusted with? |

I wouldn't say I was disgusted with, but definitely disappointed in Dermalogica. They have some great products out there, but they just didn't work for my skin. Something in the products I have tried dried up my face. |

I tired Guinot and i was not that pleased with it at all... it had such greart review.
Yes, the package is wonderful but the product itself is nothing fancy.
My sister uses it and swears by it. I am very happy for her but I would never recommend this line to anyone.

I know lots of people that think Clinique is so great, and i thought it was AWFUL. I wouldn't really call it high end, but still - it's not drugstore stuff either. |

I don't consider clinique a high end brand, I consider it dept. store crap...along with estee lauder, shiseido, and elizabeth arden..
clinique is the ABSOLUTE worst thing I've tried. |

The only reason i mention Clinique is because i know so many people who are into it, or think it's the best thing there is! One try was enough for me, lol.
I really never found something i loved until i found this forum, read around and decided to try Decleor. I have the driest, most sensitive skin, and the Decleor oils are just fabulous for me. I'm still trying to figure out which moisturizer is best... |

Ditto on Clinique and Estee Lauder, some Dermalogica products do nothing for me either. |

I've been disappointed with a lot of Clinique stuff although there are a few good products in their range (mostly makeup though). |

I was given a load of Christian Dior stuff - was very disappointed with it all - highly scented, irritated my skin and didn't deliver.
Biggest disappointment though - Clinique Dramatically different moisturiser.Nothing dramatic about it at all! It's ok as a basic hydrator but is nothing special. I guess from the name I was expecting something well... dramatically different... to the other stuff I'd tried. A better name would be 'Basic everyday moisturiser'!!! |

In total agreement about the Clinique Dramatically different moisturiser. I, too, was expecting something really amazing, or dramatically different, and was let down. |

Clinique skincare, basic and treatments have all disappointed me. Why when the formulations have a lot mineral oil and alcohol do they charge so much?? Those ingredients are so inexpensive. Mary Kay is the same, both caused me nothing but trouble.
Lancome skincare and foundation too disappointed me for the price I paid. The good thing is, all three of these companies will refund your $$ if your not happy and Clinique's cosmetics have some nice colours and are scent free. |

With apologies to any big fans of this product...I think my worst experience was with Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Advanced Time Complex Capsules....remember when ceramides were all the rage about 10 years ago? These little eggies come in a clear dome-shaped container - sound familiar? They just plain old STUNK like garbage - terrible stuff! And the texture was horrid - greasy and awful. The only thing they did for me was make me STINK when I put it on.

Same here. I really wanted to like Dermalogica as a lot of people get great results with their products. I like the Daily Microfoliant but I certainly couldn't use it everyday as it does leave my skin feeling a bit dry in places. I've tried 3 of their cleansers but they left me with a similar problem.
I've also tried the Medicated Clearing Gel and Active Moist but neither of them impressed me enough to make me want to go out and purchase the full sizes.
I wonder what the ingredient is in the Dermalogica products that causes this dryness. |
