Hello All,
It has been 5 days since I did my first face roll with 1.5mm stamp/roller, followed by infadolan immediately after and Sea Buckthorn Oil the next day. And now I am afraid I may have inadvertently destroyed my efforts by not allowing the skin to go through necessary inflammation cycle. There was no swelling the next day, nothing - the skin looked normal except for a tiny bruise where i single needled the acne scar.
Did I mess up?
I must add that 5 weeks prior to this, I rolled/stamped a test patch on the side of my face with 1 mm and only used infadolthe afterwards. For the next few days there was micro-swelling, meaning my skin looked a little puffy, smooth, almost perfect, tiny pores. And then by day 5 or 6 back to normal.
I expected the same short-term results and similar look to my skin when I did the whole face.... But no! When I woke up the next morning, my face looked as if I didn't do anything to it!! One would think that with longer needles, if anything, the swelling would last longer or be more intense. I kept waiting and waiting, but nothing happened.
Prior to needling my whole face, I also used emla numbing cream. And during the test patch - no emla cream.
So what is wrong? Did anyone have this happen? Thank you in advance for your ideas. Was this a wasted effort? Sad.. It took so much research, courage, and effort to finally do my first roll. Just hope that I didn't mess this up. |

Should have posted this in the huge Dermarolling thread. Many people, myself included, show little to no signs of rolling the day after. My face looks about normal 2 hours after rolling with a 2.0mm roller. I think your over thinking things.Sounds like you have a solid plan that should work well for you. |

Thank you for responding.
Pandax, sorry about that.
LauraLizzie, yes, I had pinpoint bleeding all over the whole face. Same as when I did the test patch with smaller needles.
Perhaps I am over thinking this whole thing. It's just that from what I read, I understand the necessity of inflammation for collagen production. And when I did the test patch, with shorter needles, there were obvious signs of inflammation, such as microswelling, red skin. But not so when I rolled the entire face. |

I haven't used an actual roller but I have used the SkinPen and DermaPen. Both manufacturers claim their downtime and ugly time is minimal - they call it "social down time" and somehow that means a few hours. I tell most people they look red and puffy for the rest of the day and look pretty much normal when they wake up the next day.
Sounds like your experience and it all sounds normal. |
