Have any of you found something that helps with excessively oily skin? I've been on three rounds of accutane, on birth control pills, and use retin a. Still oily. Tried spironolactone too. Nothing. |

Excessively oily skin can sometimes be due to using too harsh a cleanser that strips the skin of essential oils etc. What cleanser are you using?
How old are you too? Accutane, birth control pills and Retin A are all serious medications for various things so you don't want to try something that will interfere with those. |

I too have been on 3 rounds of Accutane. Works for a while and then my skin would revert back to its old ways - extremely oily and a lot of acne. For the last 2 months I have started DIY OCM with an emulsifier in the evening only and I have to say that I can go almost all day without blotting. I have also started using a blue-light LED most nights and it is helping as well. In the morning I use Spectro-Jel to cleanse. Other than that, I really don't have much to recommend. I have had acne and extremely oily skin for 35 years and I'm hoping that I have finally got my skin under control. HTH's. |
