When I had rosacea..my dermo asked me what I was using and I listed off a number of products..He told me that a person can use TOO many products and can actually make their skin worst
He said that products do build up on the top layers of the skin, clogging pores, and making it appear dull, dry etc
He said there is a such a thing as over cleansing, over exfoliating and that the mistake most women make is,that they think MORE is better..when in fact its the opposite.
He told me that a simple skin care routine,is best..Find a line of products that you have tried and work well, and stick to it faithfully.
Here are the steps he gave me
1.Cleanse mild cleanser,no need for a toner as it strips the skin of natural oils that can lead to over production of oil. Cleanse with cool water NOT hot,as this can break capilliaries and cause redness and irritation
2.Moisturize of course with at least an SPF of 15,anything higher than 25 is useless.
3.Exfoliate three times a week, but NO more..and even less in the winter,as skin tends to dry out more and is more susceptible to irritation.
I use to use tons of products and it always seemed to make my rosecea worst....now that I keep it simple,my skin is alot better |

I am happy to hear of a fellow rosacea sufferer that has had good fortune in the cleansing dept..
Did he say how many times a day you should wash your face?
I have had one doc say once a day is enough, and another say twice. Both saying moisturizing wasn't needed. My skin became dry, so I had to start moisturizing again.
What products are working wonders for you? |

I tend to agree. Simple is always better; it seems with everything in life. |
