I'm looking for a moisturizer that would work extremely well for my oily yet dehydrated.
Preferably something that does not contain oil or fragrance as my skin is quite prone to pimples. I'm trying to clear them now.
Currently I'm using dermalogica products but looking to see if you guys have any other good recommendations!
Thank you (: |

Which Dermalogica moisturiser are you using at the moment? Have you tried the Oil Control Lotion? It's a very light moisturiser but also has BHA in it to help with pimples. Could be a good option unless your skin is really dehydrated in which case it may not be enough. I would also suggest Jurlique Herbal Recovery Gel - again this depends on exactly how dehydrated your skin is.
Perhaps doing a nice moisturising (gel) mask twice a week might be a good option as well? I used to have a DDF one (in a tube, blue see through gel) that was really good. Clinique Moisture Surge Extra is good as a moisture mask as well. |

thanks mabsy for all your info. i'm new here and asking loads of questions. kind of embarrased. =p but you've been a great help!
Currently, I'm using active moist which is by dermalogica. I'm getting barrier repair soon too. Oil control lotion wasn't recommended to me by my facialist as she said it would be too drying for my tender skin.
Anyway, i can't wait to buy some great products here on eds. everything comes with gifts and great prices. now i just have to convince my mom (:, yep im still a student!
So anyway, if anyone of you has anymore recommendations, please help! |

Hi tynkerbell, Decleor have a good range of creams and oils for all skins types. Think you would need the ylang ylang oil and the corresponding balm. Some other members with oily skin have said that this has helped them a lot and I dont think its dryig too. Just an idea, a different avenue for you to explore..... |

Here is what I use and I have used everything from Lancome to Darphin.
While visiting the Ritz Carlton in Orlando Florida for a spa visit, I complained that my skin was dry from all the flying I do...Angela suggested Carita AUX 3 Sources - eye contour extra moisturing gel. It is wonderful for hydration. I also use the cleanser, toner and moisturizer from the same line along with MD everyday facial peels. This is a great system for those who are in the 30s and 40s..I am 46 and look 37...I have been taking good care of skin since I was 28...
Oh, another really great thing about this line...it last for 2-2.5 months...a real money saver.
Good luck

Tynkerbell - my skin is super oily. So much so, that I really feel the need to moisturize after cleansing. But on the days when my face is feeling dry or tight, I’ve found that applying a thin layer of Dermalogica’s Multi-Vitamin Power Recovery mask and leaving it on my face overnight in lieu of a moisturizer really does wonders! Just thought I’d suggest it, since you said you were a Dermalogica devotee and may already have this in your “arsenal”....also, I agree that Decleor’s Aromessence Ylang Ylang oil is awesome for oily skin! That stuff has really turned my face around – it’s almost like I have “normal” skin now!! |
