Marcia, I just saw this post. I had Ultherapy a couple of years ago and I'm happy to answer any specific questions. I think this technology continues to evolve so my experience may be quite different from yours. You are also much younger than me so your results will probably be better. I definitely had results, but they were not as good as I hoped. |

Like most things, I think it depends on the skill of the practitioner. I am interested in this myself. |

That Infini sounds great. My plastic surgeon mentioned a couple of years ago that he was going to be part of an FDA test for a new type of radio frequency. Hope that was it! I want it for my neck. |

Frankly modulated radiofrequency scares me - (especially close to my brain!)
I will never purposely use it on my body & seldom (except for emergencies) turn my cell phone on! |

I'd worry more about the cell phone! |

SoftSkin - I agree about the cell phone ! BUT it's all cumulative & I do have lines I draw when it comes to beauty! |

Hey thanks for the links Cookie. My mom's best friend is thinking about Fraxel Repair but she isn't the type to investigate things and I'm afraid she'll just go with whatever the first consult Dr. recommends. She's in Morro Bay so San Diego isn't too far away. I'm not really sure what would address her skin issues but I know she should at the very least find a doc with a good rep. |

Hi lagomorph- I don't have any personal experience with the Dr. in San Diego. I just found her as I was researching Infini. Don't know if she is good or bad. |

Oh I know, I was just speaking generally. But I was excited that it is available in the US. |

Hi there sorry for not replying sooner but my laptop broke so using my phone. Well I had the ultherapy done on friday . It was mildly uncomfortable nothing like I had read on real self . Although everyone is different and has different pain thresholds. I had my neck and jaw treated the jaw area was the worst but still very bearable. It lasted around 30 min and straight after I had no redness or swelling. I was told to come back on January for a review. The next morning I was tender and tiny bit of swelling but nothing anyone else would notice. I am back to normal now and just hope all the expense was worth it. I will keep you all updated on any progress x |

Wow Marcia...you moved fast! What did the doctor think about your possible outcome? Hopefully he was positive! |

Hi bethany yes I did move fast once I'd looked in to it I just thought I'd go for it. I do feel very guilty spending that much money though. The nurse who performed the treatment was very positive saying she thought I'd get a very good result but also said if I felt I could not see a difference after 6 months she would perform another treatment for free or work with me till I got the results I wanted . So I really hope I get the results I want x |

Oh good...I would definitely go for that free treatment if you are not 100% happy. But I am hoping that you get awesome results in one shot! |

Marcia, I hope you have great success with this treatment. The only real issue is waiting for the results to kick in. It's hard to be patient sometimes |

There is another procedure but I don't know what it's called. More invasive than ultherapy. A needle is inserted under the skin and heat "injected". Then it takes a couple of months to see results. Costs around $700 or so. Supposedly 20% improvement in tightening.
Anyone know what it's called or have any experience with it? I'd like to do more research but need the name first. |

I just had ultherapy done, it will be 4 weeks this Wednesday. I had full face and under the chin area/jaw area done. I didn't find it uncomfortable at all, I enjoyed it. I do feel tightening under the jaw and chin area. It just feels different when I touch it. Some of the loose skin I had under the chin has lessened and I can not wait to see what the results will be in the next few months. I don't go back until 6 months because the doctor said 3 months not many people see that much happening, so they made it 6 months. I really don't have wrinkles, just the start of the looseness under the chin and jowly thing starting. I wanted to nip that right away.
The only unpleasant feeling I had was on the forehead. Once, I felt a jolt that went to the top of my head. I still have a little tingle when I touch my forehead, I feel it at the top of my scalp. No other problems other than a little bruise on my upper right cheek. |
