I have noticed a distinct yellowing of my upper eyelid area, darkest on the inside corners but really, the whole upper eyelid area right up to my eyebrows is discoloured. In photos, this area looks darker than the rest of my face. I believe this is xanthelasma, which is a build up of cholesterol in that area, however if you google images of this condition, it shows yellow nodules on top of the skin, whereas in my case it's underneath the skin which is smooth, flat and normal in texture.
I've had my cholesterol levels tested and they're good. I can cover this problem pretty well with foundation, but hate that I have this issue now in addition to persistent melasma on my cheeks and forehead.
I was wondering if anyone else has this condition and whether you know of any treatment that would help to minimize or eliminate it. |
