My Dermatologist recommended it to treat my hyperpigmentation on face and body after a full week of using it at night I got darker even if I was wearing a potent sunblock religiously, my neck was the most irritated area and also got darker with little bumps and scarring, I used my clarisonic yesterday and it made my skin much brighter, softer, smoother and got rid of some dry flaking skin , I still get some itching on my neck , I keep wearing sunblock and re-apply it every 2-3 hours, any way I can reverse the darkness?
Is there any product to whiten and even out the skin without these side effects?
Thank You! |

It sounds like inflammation may be making it look darker. I would stop using it (and the Clarisonic) and let your skin fully recover before doing anything else. After a couple of weeks maybe start back up at every other day.
Btw, the neck area is often way to sensitive for treatments like that, so you may not be able to continue there at all. |

Hi, Neostrata 15 AHA is pretty potent!! But apart from recomending using it maybe just one day in one day out... I'm not sure of which one your dermatologist has recomended as they are a couple with that percentage and then plus other ingredients according to whether pimples or brown spots/stains.

In any case take a rest at least a couple a days minimum. Sometimes less is best.
And then ask the dermatologist that recommended it about what to do, as it may be the case that these symptoms are quite normal actually, and may be skin darkening then peeling off in two, three or four days and brand new skin appearing... By the time you decide to go back to the derm probably you'll have lovely babe's skin's after the darkened one has peeled off!! |

You prob used too much lotion.
Also sometimes if you use a lot of chemical products and a chemical sunscreen it can bother your skin- well for me anyways.
I find with peels and neostrata stuff I like using mineral sunscreens better. |
