My skin is dry, sensitive and as of this year acne prone! It's leaving red marks all over and its so hard to cover with makeup on dry skin it ends up looking flaky!
Obviously I want to moisturise and sooth my skin. Is there anything that can be done to prevent these red marks being left? Or is there anything soothing that can be applied over that area that will get rid of the red marks that are left. Im pretty certain a child could spend a good half hour on my face doing dot to dot :'( |

First, what is causing the acne? Hormones? bad makeup choices? improper cleansing? Discovering and eliminating or at least working with the triggers will be the most important thing. For me, its silicones in makeup/sunscreen and not cleansing enough. Using the Foreo Luna along with the right cleanser for me and not using silicones is key.
Second, products with vitamin C, niacinamide, N-acetyl glucosamine and kinetin can lighten hyperpigmentation spots. Using a salicylic acid toner, or enzyme peels if you dont want to use acids, will also help. Microdermabrasion and peels after you've gotten the acne under control will help eliminate the hyperpigmentation spots as well. Products with lighteners like mulberry, sepiwhite, etc can also be used on stubborn spots.
Theres not one magic bullet to eliminating spots, but discovering what works for you is key. And wearing high spf/ppd sunscreen at all times! |
