I have read all the posts about how to make a serum, oxidation, etc. I could not find one regarding a fresh made DIY serum.
I just made Kassy's Vit.C serum with FA/E/Jojoba. I added optiphen & polysorbate 80.
This is my second attempt. First time I didn't have the optiphen or Polysorbate 80 but it came out great and lasted a week and a half.
While making this new batch, on step 2 when mixing the fine LAA with water, it immediately took on a very light yellowish tinge.
Does oxidation occur immediately like that?
So bummed, cause I made a double batch. The materials were all stored in a dark, cool cupboard prior to mixing. I have only had the ingredients since late Dec., so they are not old.
Do I have to pitch it and start over? |
