I apologize in advance because I'm sure this information is somewhere in this forum already. It is such a huge amount of information and I've been sifting through it and still feel very overwhelmed and don't know where to begin! Basically I need to get serious about my skincare. I'm 42 with previous spots and sun damage showing. Combination skin. I wear sunscreen everyday but after reading several things on here, I realize my suncreen (Oil of Olay spf 30) may not be as protective as I want and need in Florida. I don't want any more sun damage or exposure at all!! I use a mild cleanser than I am happy with and that's about it. I think I would like to start with a vitamin C serum in the morning and retin A at night. There are so many recipes and variations on the C serum. Any basic beginner tips? And where does everyone buy their supplies and retin A? I have used retin a before from my derm. Just have gotten out of the habit. I also want something to lighten my many sun spots. Any advice? Recommendations? I really appreciate any words of wisdom. Thank you!

Hello, my favorite Vit C really is Vivier CE peptide. I could sware it has worked to fade one sun spot I have.

I've tried others but always comme back to Vivier. There are many others that people like. It seems that Vit C is kind of personal and everyone has their favorite.

I've tried many times retin A in difference forms (gel and cream) and diffente brand. It doesn't do much for me... Because I cannot get over the dryness.

What ever you do I'd recommend not to start both products at the same time. Let you skin get use to one before starting the other.

Vitamin C Serums I've tried.

I just recently ordered this through Amazon and it seems to be a very nice product. I've only used it for about a week so can't really comment yet.

I ordered this one in January and am very happy with the look under my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer.
I believe my face has a nice glow to it.
I like this serum a lot, will reorder.

I've also used the SkinCeuticals

I bought from a local Esthetician School at a 25% discount.
Very very good product. This gives me a radiant, youthful glow.

I also throw together my own, but haven't done so in a while.

I am 53, have fair skin and I believe my complexion looks quite nice.

I never use the same product, like to go back and forth.
