Does anyone know what to do for hair loss (not patchy, but generalized scalp/crown thinning) aside from Rogaine which doesn't work for me? I've tried biotin, Fatty Acids, b-complex vitamins, and have eliminated medications from my hypertensive meds which have a side effect of hair thinning or loss. Help! |

Try the Nioxin line which helps hair loss. Their products are a bit pricey, but it's worked for a lot of people. I love the Scalp Therapy treatment (apply a generous amount to hair, wrap your head in a HOT towel for 3 minutes, rinse with cool water and enjoy the amazing feeling -- lots of minty/menthol feeling). |

Try fresh aloe vera. You can buy it from major nurseries. Simply peel open the leaves and rub the juice on your scalp and hair for a couple of minutes. My mom has had great success with this for growing her hair.l |

My Mom has used this hair care line for the last two years to help her thinning hair regain its strength and smoothness. You can find them in a well stocked Japanese grocery store if you live in Canada or USA. She also quit using hair styling products that are harmful to her scalp. And every night before bed time she gives her scalp a gentle massage the same way she does to her face. |

I second the vote for Nioxin! It is pricey, but it DOES work really well to prevent general hair loss. For some reason I had a period of time when I was losing quite a bit of hair (it was quite scary really). Using Nioxin things dramatically improved! Then when I stopped using it things were fine for a while but I'm again starting to notice that I'm losing more hair than usuall so when I run out of my current shampoo I'll go for a bottle of Nioxin and their conditioner again.

You need an anti androgen to really fight hairloss sucessfully. Dutasteride (avodart) is great for guys, but may not be good forwomen, who i believe genrally should use spironolactone. You should also add a good topical such as Dr Lees new 15% minoxidil or folligen, revivogen, emu oil etc. |

I had the same problem and it seems to have really been helped by the following:
- blowdrying my hair as little as possible
- taking the following suppliements:
2000mg Biotin
Silicia
A fantastic iron supplement called Floradix
