This 140g tube of cream cost $75 and I've had it a couple of years since I seldom use it. It's prescription only, used for eczema and other itchy skin problems. The ingredients don't seem that special to me:
Purified water, olive oil, glycerin, pentylene glycol, palm glycerides, vegetable oil, hydrogenated lecithin, squalane, betaine, palmitamide MEA, sarcosine, acetamide MEA, hydroxyethyl cellulose, sodium carbomer, carbomer, xanthan gum.
It seems like basic skin barrier protection and softening agents. The sarcosine intrigues me though. I'm wondering if increasing the foods that contain it or taking the aminos listed in this article would help or prevent eczema . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarcosine |
