Has anyone working on microneedling, as I do, wished they had started a little earlier? I got on top of my perioral and forehead lines quite quickly, as I immediately hated them, but I put up far too long with my parentheses lines and wrist creases, and really regret it. I guess I thought, 'oh it's ok, just a bit of character, and it's really not bad yet'. And then it was really bad, and now the lines are deep and are taking a lot of needling.
I guess this is just a note to people seeing the first little lines or creases: if you deal with them asap it will be a lot easier. Each CIT (collagen induction therapy) ie rolling or stamping or single needling can only build up so much collagen, and a deep line can't be dealt with in one or two sessions in my experience.
I think I didn't want to be too vain and the feminist in my didn't want to give in to the 'smooth face' ideal. But that's easy to think when you still look pretty good and just have the first few lines, and very hard to take when the lines are deep, you become 'invisible' and you just don't have the option of being smoothly beautiful any more. Although the signs of age are beautiful too, they do limit your options regarding style and even relationships (though I'm very happily settled, but many women in their 40s and 50s are looking for a relationship).
What do others think? |
