Hi, I'm new!

I realized a few years ago that I have a deep permatan, especially on my arms and face. Turns out, my natural untanned skin tone is super light, like a MAC NC15 shade, and my tanned parts are anywhere from MAC30 to MAC40/45.

So, how do I go about removing it? I am already using Likas Papaya soap, which I hear is good for this kind of thing, but what else should I use? Thank you!

Also, my Fitzpatrick skin type is a III/IV, and am described to having an olive skin tone.

are you using sunscreen daily? That alone will help but it takes a long time.

Have you checked on some skin lightening forums for advice? they have the most up to date regi's I think. Like: salt baths for exfoliation before you start to lighten.

Sunscreen/sun avoidance is key once you start this, of course, as the OP said. The newly emerging skin is prone to hyperpigmentation like mad.

Papaya soap is a good start. Also clay or charcoal soap too. You will notice your shower water looking cloudy or white bits in your drain catcher if you have one. That would be the dead skin coming off.

I found the fastest way to remove a tan was waxing. It definitely takes some tan off but it only works if you have an hairy area to wax.

You can try using glycolic body lotions as well. It might take several months to become even toned.
