I'm starting Obagi's NuDerm starter kit (and tretinoin), and usually get facials every couple of weeks. Does anyone know if it's still okay to do that while on Obagi?
Thanks! |

I'd say you should stop your facials while doing Obagi. I am using obagi and I can't even use moisturizing cream... |

Maria-
Really? I thought you had to use the moisturizer that came with it- is that not working for you? I'm just starting the program. I was kind of hoping that maybe an occasional extraction and moisturizing mask might reduce the peeling everyone complains about.
How long have you been using it? |

I think you will probably find that you will not want a facial when Obagi kicks in. I am with Maria my face has been very tender the last few days infact one of the girls at work asked if I had one of those facial peels and I am using retinol not retin-A. |

When I was on obagi, I was told not to use moisturizer since it will delay the progress of peeling etc.
I also rec no facial at this time. You don't want to irritate your already sensitive skin. |

I am into the third week of using these products and yes have peeling mainly around mouth, chin and neck - presume it will get worse. Have noticed that any rubbing can react and cause more redness. If there is anyone there - that has gone past the 3 week mark - what can we expect. |

I've been using Obagi for 4 and a half weeks. Before that I used lots of moisturizing cream because my skin is quite dry.
My derm specifically said I shouldn't use moisturizer, not even Obagi's, so I didn't and I am surprised my skin didn't react that bad.
I was expecting the first weeks to be all redness, peeling and flaking and to my big surprise, it hasn't been that bad. Sure I have minor peeling, sometimes more, sometimes less, sometimes I experience a little redness, but nothing to complain about.
I had my first control last week and my derm was also surprised as to how good my skin has reacted, she said that it totally depends on each skin's peculiarities...
I started using obagi due to melasma, I have two major darkspots in my cheeks and lots of freckles and although they haven't disappeared yet, they are considerably lighter. The thing is that I can't tell completely since I became mirror addict and I watch my spots several times a day... but the doctor said I had progress of around 50%... so I am quite happy.
Good luck to everyone, sure we all deserve a nicer skin. |

My facial lady doesn't like it that I used the Obagi. She thinks it's too harsh on the skin. All that peeling is just not right. She prefers that I pay her to do the microdermabrasion.
It's true that all that peeling looks awful. |

I would be very gentle on the skin while using the Obagi nu-derm, it is doing enough to your skin already. I am hoping to save money on treatments and the nu-derm system will do it all! |
