Just curious if anyone has ever had experience with a VPW laser on their face for vascular conditions?
I have really dark circles. The skin seems very thin and you can see red beneath. I had some restylane done the other day and my intention had been to have some put in my tear trough area. The doctor who saw me said that I didn't have any hollowing and that my best bet would be to try the VPW laser (I think VPW stands for variable pulse width laser)? She said I would need from 2 - 5 treatments every 4 weeks. It would be $250 each treatment WHICH if it helped my dark circles, I think it would be money worth spending.
HOWEVER, I'm trying to research this laser online to find actual reviews. They told me the immediate reactions can be redness and swelling. But it sounds like it is minimal. I found this description of what it does online: "A VPW laser works wonders in erasing the red. Laser pulses heat the blood inside the vein causing it to coagulate. This clotting eventually destroys the vein. The body takes care of the rest, by absorbing and eliminating the now defunct vein. The healthy tissue which surrounds the blemish remains unaffected."
So has anyone tried this? For vascular issues of the face OR for the undereye area. I'm very tempted to give a go, but I'd really be more comfortable hearing from people who have actually had it done. Their idea of minimal redness/swelling could mean something completely different to me! |
