| Browsing previous posts I notice mention of Customs and Excise regarding goods shipped to U.K. Are there duties payable by me on my order which will be shipped to London? I have ordered a lot of stuff overseas previously and never been charged anything other than postage. Would be such a shame as the prices on EDS are so cheap compared to store prices in U.K. e.g. a Philip Thomas Roth product[glycolic face wash] I saw in SpaceNK in London yesterday ws selling for £30. It sells for £15.60 on EDS and lots of other products have a similar huge reduction in price compared to elsewhere. Remarkable. |

I to wondered about this. As i was ordering over £80 worth of products. I split the order into to and paid shipping on both orders. But there was a offer if you spent £64 or more you could get a free gift. Before i ordered my products i e-mailed eds and told them that i was placing 2 smaller orders rather than 1. And i explained that i did not want customs to see 1 big package. Just incase i got charged customs. I also asked if i could have my free gift. They replied back saying yes, all i had to do was when i placed my second order just give them the order number of the first order. And they sent out my free gift. I placed my order at midnight on a Monday night and the order arrived the following Tuesday.

| thanks for reply lenny9....I'll keep this in mind the next time I order if I get charged anything on my expected delivery. These products total £95. I'll post details of charges, if any, when goods arrive. |

I ordered about £96 worth of stuff a few weeks ago from EDS...........i didn't get charged any customs and excise.............i think it just depends on each parcel........the customs people do not check each and every parcel sent from overseas........they do a random check.......i phoned up customs and excise and asked them how they go about charging VAT......they said that anything over £20 gets charged VAT............of 17.5% + a surcharge for opening up the parcel..about £10+..........when i used to order stuff from Hong Kong.......i always got charged VAT despite my order being very small.........so it really all depends on luck.........but saying that.........alot of people on this forum ordering from EDS have not been charged any VAT....and their prices are good too........and you get the novelty of getting all your free samples...........regards Karina  |

| If items are sent as a gift they don't usually get hit by customs |
