Exfolations always good for acne...just dont over do it.
Thats my recommendation anyways.
try maldelic acid or maybe a low percent of benznol peroxide.
Slow increase of peroxide and then slow retraction off it should clear you I think.
First 3 days I think youre supposed to start with it on only 15mins then wash off..the next 3-4 days you do 30mins and wash off, then to an hour, then once a day, to two times a day. And then slowly do the same routine but opposite.
If you dont want to use ben. peroxide because of the peeling or irritation it can cause then glycolic or lactic might be the way to go.
goodluck! |

Definitely don't over do the exfoliation. I have to be so careful with it since my skin is hypersensitive and too much causes serious irritation. Recently, I had to use an exfoliating cleanser once or twice a week in order to build up my skin's resistance to the acid. If you are sensitive, a lot of people love Benzoyl Peroxide which is a good alternative to acids when combating acne.
I suggest looking at Vivant Skin Care and their line of products. I suggest their Mandelic Acid Wash which is geared toward adult acne. It's gentle and there are a couple of sites that offer regular discounts since it's usually $30. If acids seem too much, they also have a Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser.
If your acne isn't all over and worsening, I'd try their Green Tea Antioxidant Cleanser which I use in the morning. It isn't an acid based wash, it's super gentle, and it cleans quite well. Often, gentle is the best way to go and then work your way up. |
